Penelitian yang telah dilakukan hingga saat ini masih banyak kekurangan dan perlu diteliti lebih lanjut antara lain :

• Untuk mengetahui komponen penyusun dari masing-masing ekstrak yang

menunjukkan aktivitas antimikroba yang baik, perlu dilakukan identifikasi

fitokimia dengan metode High Performance Layer Chromatoraphy

(HPLC).

• Optimalisasi proses ekstraksi untuk memperoleh rendemen minyak atsiri

dan ekstrak jintan hitam yang tinggi, yaitu dengan mencoba metode ekstraksi yang lain atau melakukan beberapa perubahan pada parameter ekstraksi, seperti suhu dan jenis pelarut.

• Penentuan nilai MIC dengan metode pengenceran untuk memperoleh nilai

MIC yang lebih tepat.
