Head of School means a member of the academic staff appointed by the Council and so appointed. Any applicant whose application for enrollment has been amended has the right to complain to the headmaster. A student can be declared excluded from taking the exam by the head of department responsible for the subject if he has not fulfilled all conditions in the rules for the course he is registered for.

In relation to the course in which the student is enrolled - The responsible Head of Department sends a list of the final results of each candidate enrolled in that course and nominated for the examination to the relevant Academic Council. After approval of the Academic Council governing the course, or a Committee of the Council where the authority has been delegated in terms of Article 40, the results can be released by the Head of Department offering the subject.

SCHOOL OF APPLIED SCIENCE

In accepting applicants, the Academic Board in Applied Science will consider the nature of the proposed research program and its relevance to the goals of the Institute and the community. Sponsorship will normally come from an employer, a government department or authority, a professional body or a department within the School of Applied Sciences. An applicant may be enrolled as a full-time or part-time student where the work is carried out entirely within the School of Applied Sciences;.

The Academic Board may require an enrolled student to complete formal coursework as an integral part of their education.

DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED GEOLOGY

Unless approved by the head of department, the total number of hours associated with units selected for study may not exceed the number of hours allocated to the semester of the program in rule 1 and from which the majority of units are selected. With the exception of the head of department's approval, the total number of hours linked to the units selected for the study may not be less than 50% of the number of hours placed in the semester of the degree from which the majority of the units are selected. . Students on the day program or the evening program receive credit for passed units and must only repeat failed units.

Students who pass all units in one semester of a day or evening program as set out in Rules 2 or 3 will be expected to enroll in the units as set out for the next semester of the relevant program in those Rules. 7 Students who fail units will be allowed to continue studying some or all of the units from the next semester of the program provided that. Except with the approval of the Head of Department, the total number of hours associated with units selected for study by day program students may not exceed the number of hours allocated in Rule 2 to the semester of the program from which the majority of units are selected.

Students in the day program or the evening program receive credit for units and are only required to repeat failed units. Unless approved by the Head of Department, the total number of hours associated with units selected for study by day program students should not exceed the number of hours allocated to the semester of the program in Rule 3(a) and from which the majority of units are selected. Subject to the approval of the Head of Department, the maximum number of hours that may be allowed for study by evening students is as stated in any year in Rule 3 (b).

Unless authorized by the department head, the total number of hours associated with the units selected for study may not be less than 50% of the number of hours assigned to the semester of the program from which the majority of the units are selected. . Students can be exempted from all or part of the PSB448 Hematology III and PSB449 Histotechnology programs. Students who complete all components in one semester as stipulated in Rule 2 are expected to register for the components listed for the following semester of the course.

DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS

For a registered student in a day programme, the subjects and other work of the three study years that make up the curriculum are as follows. For a registered student in an evening program, the subjects and other work of the six years of study are as follows - Normal Course Program - six year evening program. Except with the approval of the Head of Department, the total hours associated with the units selected for study shall not be less than 50% of the number of hours allocated to the semi-master of the program from which the majority of the units are in addition .

A registered student admitted under these Rules may choose to specialize in any of the diagnostic or therapeutic courses. Students who pass all I-units in a semester of a day or evening program as defined in Rules 5 & 6 are expected to register for the units specified in those Rules for the following semester of the relevant program. However, if an examiner deems this justified, a student may be recalled for further informal assessment before the exam result is released.

Candidates with other qualifications may enroll with the approval of the Physics Department Chair and may be required to complete a bridging program. This course deals with the production and use of energy in living organisms and the metabolic interrelationships of the compounds found in PSB405. Extension of PSC406 course. work includes methods and techniques of biochemistry in biological fields. The course presents cell biology as a relationship between structure and function.
