Each selection committee shall be responsible for selecting, up to the number fixed by Council, those applicants who are considered most likely

Course structure: The structure of your course will depend on which credits you are offered and at what level the credits are offered, e.g. Under any circumstances, you must complete a total of at least nine subjects, of which at least five must be taken here, and of these nine subjects, at least five must be above first-year level.

First-year students who intend to enroll in honors schools at the start of their second year must pass the annual first-year examinations in the appropriate subject (or subjects) with at least an honors 2В rating. DEPARTMENT OF EAST AND SOUTHEAST ASIAN STUDIES

Modern Chinese can be dated to the beginning of this century, while medieval Chinese can be said to have early beginnings in the 6th century AD and produced its first major creative works, the Yuan period plays, in the 13th century. From their early beginnings as a fringe and esoteric pastime, these studies have now developed into an increasingly common and central activity in most major universities in the West.

In their third year, candidates will take French part 3 (courts) and either Renaissance French language and literature or Advanced Medieval or Renaissance French language and literature or Advanced Medieval French language and literature, according to the year in which the lectures in these subjects are delivered. In their fourth year, candidates will take French Part 4, and either Renaissance French Language and Literature or Advanced Medieval French Language and Literature, whichever subject is taught in that year.
