The faculty offers three bachelor's programmes, Bachelor of Business (Computing), Bachelor of Business (Information Management) and Bachelor of Applied Science (Computing). The Faculty also offers the Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Applied Science (Electronic Systems and Computing) in collaboration with the School of Engineering.

GENERAL COURSE RULES

When timetable conflicts make it necessary, full-time students may be allowed to attend evening classes. except that, in certain circumstances, students who fail a subject that has a pre. requirement for a second subject may nevertheless be deemed suitable to enroll in the second subject, such suitability being determined by the Principal administering the second subject. i) Except with the approval of the Principal, the total number of hours relating to the subjects selected for study by vol. Students who need to register for further assessment must contact the Faculty to determine the nature of the further assessment. In all cases, the requirements for further assessment must be completed by a date no later than the end of the first week of the following semester.

POLICY ON LATE ASSIGNMENTS

Bachelor of Business {Computer Science}, including this component of the combined Bachelor of Computer Science and Law; and Bachelor of Business {Information Management}.

POLICY ON DEFERRED EXAMINATIONS AND NON-ATTENDANCE OF EXAMINATIONS

In the first case, the student must inform the dean of the faculty as soon as the situation arises. In the 1st second case, the student must inform the dean of the faculty as soon as possible. A postponed exam is not an appropriate measure if the student was unable to study during the semester for any reason.

ASN184 MASTER OF APPLIED SCIENCE BY RESEARCH AND THESIS

In the case of an external student, the Committee will appoint an associate supervisor from the student's workplace or sponsoring institution. No student shall be eligible for the award of a degree until a period of 1 birth year has elapsed from the time of initial enrollment. After approval is given, no changes shall be made except with the permission of the Committee.

They must choose at least two electives, so that the student can choose two to six topics from this range. The maximum number of courses in this category that can be counted in the course's obligations is 4. FIELD TRIPS

Field trips are included as part of the teaching strategy in the core subjects ISP100 The Computer System and ISP200 Systems Analysis and Design. In the case of ISP100, visits to student computer sites bring together the hardware, software and application aspects; and for ISP200, field trips provide live case study material related to the application of analysis and design methodologies and techniques.

For a registered student enrolled in the one-year full-time Graduate Diploma in Computer Science, an example of a program of study is set out below. For a registered student enrolled on the part-time graduate Diploma in Computing Science course, the subjects and other work in the two years of study are as follows;. The selection of electives other than those listed is subject to the approval of the Head, School of Computing Science.

ISM165 GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN LIBRARY SCIENCE

FIELD EXPERIENCE

Part-time students are normally expected to complete their fieldwork requirements during University vacations, but if there are compelling reasons to do so, the Field Experience may be deferred until after the completion of the next course's work. Students are not required to enroll in ISP428 {Field Experience}, however fieldwork arrangements for all students must be channeled through the Fieldwork Coordinator in the School of Information Systems. Credit for this course component will be awarded only upon completion of all fieldwork requirements.

All students who delay fieldwork must complete the total fieldwork period within six months of successfully completing all other course requirements. Credit will not normally be given for work experience for full-time students prior to successful completion of the first semester's work, or for part-time students prior to successful completion of two semesters' work. Part-time students working for a salary in an approved library during their course period, whose work experience for at least the minimum six weeks meets the required conditions of appropriate level and diversity, may receive fieldwork credit.

Business Electives: Can be chosen from any subject in the degree programs offered by the Faculty of Business, depending on the requirements, availability of the subject in the class schedule and approval of the Head of the School of Information Systems. The purpose of the industrial training period is to provide students with experience of a real world environment prior to the study of the more advanced aspects of the course. a) enable the student to put into context the concepts learned in the first two years; And. The industrial training period will necessarily involve a period of reorientation and practical training, but students are expected to apply study skills in acquiring the necessary knowledge, and employers are generally not expected to provide formal training. a) The Faculty will assist students in finding suitable work for the period of one year and will also discuss the nature of the work to be performed with the employer. Credit would be granted on the basis of a period of two years of full-time work in an approved environment and meeting a number of administrative requirements: a statement from the training coordinator that the arrangements have been discussed with the employer and that the proposed employment provides suitable work experience; two annual visits by a member of the academic staff to the student and employer; And. a satisfactory report, written by the student, endorsed by the employer and submitted no later than the start of the semester following the internship period. GENERAL COURSE RULES

A student may not register for a course if, within the limitations of the prerequisites and corequisites and schedules, courses from previous semesters remain to be completed, except with permission of the administrator upon written request to the Registrar. A student is considered to have attempted a course if he or she is registered for the course and all assessment requirements for the course have been met. All students must have completed a total of at least 15 weeks of work, approved by the administrator, to fulfill the vacation exercise requirements of the course.
