Riverbank Erosion

Firstly I must apolog¡se for the time it has taken to follow up with you on the meeting at on

July. Waterways Program staff have been dealing with

a

large number of projects, however I can assure you that this matter is a high priority for Council.

Attached with this letter is a plan ^showing the type and extent of works that will ^need to be undertaken on your property to arrest ongoing bank erosion. The plan breaks the bank into numbered Sections, and shows the length of each.

The areas identified as sections requiring high priority works ^are:

(160m) (185m) (105m) (50m) (60m) (1eOm)

Earthwork will

be

required

at

each of these sites

to

stabilise bank slips and allow revegetation with nat¡ve spec¡es. Works are required, as a priority, over

a

length of approximately 750 metres.

As discussed with you on site, the area where works are undertaken will need to ^be fenced to ensure that cattle do not continue to damage the banks or new ^plantings' Fences would ^need to be established at a minimum of five metres back from the ^top of the bank or newly constructed batter, ^and the river bank densely revegetated with native species from the fence to the water line.
