Dear
Riverbank Erosion
Firstly I must apolog¡se for the time it has taken to follow up with you on the meeting at on
17
July. Waterways Program staff have been dealing witha
large number of projects, however I can assure you that this matter is a high priority for Council.Attached with this letter is a plan showing the type and extent of works that will need to be undertaken on your property to arrest ongoing bank erosion. The plan breaks the bank into numbered Sections, and shows the length of each.
The areas identified as sections requiring high priority works are:
(160m) (185m) (105m) (50m) (60m) (1eOm)
Earthwork will
be
requiredat
each of these sitesto
stabilise bank slips and allow revegetation with nat¡ve spec¡es. Works are required, as a priority, overa
length of approximately 750 metres. As discussed with you on site, the area where works are undertaken will need to be fenced to ensure that cattle do not continue to damage the banks or new plantings' Fences would need to be established at a minimum of five metres back from the top of the bank or newly constructed batter, and the river bank densely revegetated with native species from the fence to the water line.
