Introduction
To ensure that all Centres are complying with the specifications set out in the Competition Regulations, LAVic have now sought the provision of Centre uniforms through a number of specifically chosen suppliers.
All three suppliers produce their garments in Melbourne which means they are easily accessible with quick turnaround on uniform items. We have negotiated very competitive pricing which will ensure Centres can pass on affordable prices to their members.
This booklet will provide you with the relevant information your Centre will need to make the required changes to your uniform. These changes are not expected to occur immediately with Centres given three full seasons to comply (by the start of season 2013/14).
Moving forward LAVic will be ensuring that all Centres not only comply with Competition Regulations but also have the same uniform design for all items available, e.g. Centre singlet, crop top and t-shirt must all have the same design, colours etc.
Centres that wish to have a design/logo or Centre number on their shorts will be discouraged from doing so. This will be phased out on all uniforms as it removes the ability of parents and athletes from being able to purchase affordable shorts in their Centre colour, as well as causing issues with our PhotoFinish equipment and walks due to a clash of hip/bib numbers. We understand that depending on their chosen event athletes will wear a variety of different style shorts, and we aim to ensure this can continue.

Little Athletics Victoria now also have a requirement for Centres to include the new Association logo on all new uniforms.
Below are examples of the placement of the LAVic logo on a number of Centre uniforms.

Implementation
Over a period of time all Centres will be required to have the appropriate branding on their Centre uniforms.
All Centres will be contacted via email with advice as to the specific changes required to their Centre uniform, in consultation with LAVic.
Those Centres who have their Centre number/logo or design - as per
examples below - in the position which will be utilised for the LAVic logo will need to discuss options in relation to changes required as per the reference to email above.
A period of three seasons will be allowed for Centres to make the relevant changes. Therefore by the start of the 2013/14 season Centres will be expected to have all athletes in the appropriate uniform.
Centres should also be aware that competition bibs/numbers will continue to be provided for State Championship events; therefore it is recommended that Centre numbers be located in an appropriate position that will not be concealed by these patches.

Process
The following process is now required for the supply of Uniforms.
Centre
Club
While it is not compulsory for Clubs to use the LAVic suppliers for their Club uniforms, the Association has negotiated competitive rates on all uniforms including screen printed t-shirts and embroidered polo shirts.
Therefore it is highly recommended that these suppliers be utilised for all your Club requirements.
If using the LAVic logo on any Club uniforms you must use one of the three preferred suppliers as they are the only licensed manufacturers.
Design
Centre to liasie with supplier to organise design of uniform
Approval
Design submitted to LAVic for approval
Manufacture
Centre & Supplier to be advised of approval from LAVic
Sample

Further reminders
Please review the following important items when ordering uniforms:
Do not leave it until the last minute as LAVic cannot change turnaround times with suppliers
Do not order at the start of football/netball season (April/May)
Make sure you follow the LAVic approval process as items have been rejected by the Association and destroyed
The sample must be submitted to LAVic for approval and placed in our records which includes Region/State uniform booklets
You need to order a minimum of 10 garments prior to obtaining a sample
Do not change your Centre colours without prior approval

Competition Regulations
The Competition Regulations specify the sizing of the Centre number required on the front and back of the Uniform.
Please note that where a Centre number is within a logo, the number must be of the appropriate size as per below.
Please refer to CR: 2.6.2 below:
2.6.2 Centre/Region Identification
(a) Each uniform top (or the “top” section of a one-piece uniform) shall have the Centre/Region identity in a contrasting colour, affixed as follows:
(i) Centre uniforms: Shall have the Centre number, (e.g., "999") on both the front and back.
(ii) Region uniforms: Shall have the Region identification, (e.g. "REG") in contrasting colour on the back, and where there is no Region emblem on the front, the Region identification shall also be on the front.
(b) The size of the number/identification shall be in accordance with the following specifications:
(i) FRONT: Each numeric/numeral (for Centre Nos.) or alphabetic (for Region Identification) shall be between 45mm and 125mm in height and have a width of 10 - 25mm. The width shall be proportionate to the height to ensure the numbers are of an appropriate size.
(ii) BACK: Each numeric/numeral (for Centre Nos.) or alphabetic (for Region Identification) shall be between 95mm and 125mm in height and have a width of 20mm - 25mm.

Font
All Centre uniforms will be automatically defaulted to IMPACT font for both numbering and lettering when requesting new artwork.
LAVic logo
Any use of the LAVic logo on garments or promotional material must be approved by the office and artwork viewed and authorised.
Artwork
Each supplier has a design team who can assist you with designing your uniform whether it is a new design or to recreate your current uniform.
The more information i.e. styles, colours, logos etc that you can provide will assist them in ensuring this process is quick and easy.
A small artwork fee of approximately $50 may be charged depending on the amount of work involved in setting up your uniform design.
If artwork fees are an issue in the fulfilment of your Centre order please contact the office.
Delivery
All suppliers advise a turnaround time of 3-5 weeks once artwork is approved.
Once the uniforms have been supplied as an initial order, top up orders can be completed at any time as required.
Delivery will be arranged for metro and regional centres at little or no cost to the Centre depending on the number and size of items being sent.
