Release of updated Accreditation program
Purpose
To advise schools that the QCAA has updated modules in its Accreditation program, which has been renamed the QCE Assessment literacy program.
Background
The QCAA developed the Accreditation program to support teachers to implement quality assurance and assessment processes in the new QCE system. Following completion of the first full cycle of the new system, the QCAA commissioned Queensland University of Technology (QUT) to evaluate the program. QUT’s recommendations have informed our revisions.
Information
The QCE Assessment literacy program has seven modules, which are online, self-paced and interactive. They are suitable for:
• teachers
• school leaders
• QCAA assessors.
The program supports the QCAA’s commitment to ensuring valid, accessible and reliable assessment in the senior phase of learning.
In this release, the following modules have been updated:
• Module 1 — Attributes of quality assessment
• Module 2 — Developing valid and accessible assessment
• Module 3 — Making reliable judgments
• Module 6 — External assessment writing
• Module 7 — External assessment marking.
An update to Module 4 — Endorsement and Module 5 — Confirmation will be released later in Term 3. Teachers wishing to become QCAA assessors will still need to complete the prerequisite module and module assessment before applying for an assessor role.
The completion status of participants who previously completed these courses is unchanged. The modules are accessed via the Assessment literacy application (formerly titled Accreditation) in the QCAA Portal.
