Release of senior student achievement data through the Analytical Dashboard application

Purpose

To provide information about a new application in the QCAA Portal that will allow schools to view and analyse final results and achievement data of senior students who have exited school.

Background

In December 2020 and 2021, the QCAA provided PDF school-specific subject reports for schools via the fileShare application in the QCAA Portal. These reports provided results data for exited senior students at individual schools compared to state-wide student achievement data. From May 2022, these reports and data will be provided via the new Analytical Dashboard application in the QCAA Portal.

Information

The QCAA has released an interactive application called the Analytical Dashboard in the QCAA Portal to allow schools to view and analyse their senior student subject results and achievement data and make comparisons with state-wide data. This application replaces the PDF school- specific subject reports and has functionality to allow users to interact with data using a variety of different tables and graphs. Data is displayed from an overall subject result level, down to

individual assessment criteria. Data in the Analytical Dashboard application reflects current student result data held in the Student Management application.

To assist schools to understand the functionality of the Analytical Dashboard application, there will be a number of webinars in May 2022. Information about these webinars is available at https://events.qcaa.qld.edu.au/Event.aspx?e=1747&r=310.

There are two roles in the application:

Analytical Dashboard Subject Administrator (assigns subjects to Subject Viewers within the Analytical Dashboard application — usually a principal or principal’s delegate)

Analytical Dashboard Subject Viewer (views subject data for assigned subjects).

Both of these roles are assigned to school staff in the Access Management application by the school’s Access Management Organisation Administrator. Access to the Analytical Dashboard application is determined by school principals.

The Subject Administrator allocates subjects to Subject Viewers within the Analytical Dashboard application as appropriate, by selecting Results > User – Subject Administration > Add. Only users who have been assigned the Subject Viewer role via Access Management can have subjects allocated to them. Instructions for allocating subjects to staff who have been assigned the Subject Viewer role are available by clicking on Help at the top right of any screen in the Analytical Dashboard application.

What you need to do

• Inform relevant staff of the release of the Analytical Dashboard application.

• Ensure the Access Management Organisation Administrator assigns roles in the Analytical Dashboard application to school staff as appropriate and as approved by the principal.
