Student Testimonials – Bachelor of Pharmacy
I completed my undergraduate degree with distinction from the Department of Pharmacy of BRAC University located in the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka.I chose to study at BRAC University because it stood out above the rest. I had offers from other universities, but BRAC University has a great reputation internationally, and had the specific program I wanted to do.
I like the hands-on approach of the courses at BRAC University because it has taken my learning beyond theory. I have learnt to apply my knowledge through experiences like giving presentations, working in teams, and active involvement in the practical classes. I also like that our lecturers use real-life examples in their teaching and the fact that lectures are held twice at different times. We had several seminars set out throughout the year which gave us updates regarding the pharmaceutical industry, new innovative approaches to drug discovery and drug development. Pharmacy department also takes students to industrial visits every year, to give us an exposure to the real work of pharmacists.
Faculty of Pharmacy Department is full of innovative professors with outstanding guidance and support. All the knowledge I gained from BRAC University has proved to be very important now for my post graduate degree in Macquarie university, Sydney. I will always be grateful to all the faculties and its goodwill.
My advice to prospective students is that, when you come to the BRAC University, don't be afraid to venture out and join clubs and societies, especially BRAC University Pharma Society.
Coming here was the best decision I've made so far!

Department of Pharmacy, BRAC University has provided me with ample opportunities for learning and understanding healthcare through integrating theoretical knowledge with practical and realistic applications. In my more than five years of journey in this magical and dynamic place, I have had many fantastic learning experiences that enriched my horizon in the healthcare world. The department also motivated me to develop ideas and pursue knowledge related to advocacy on issues of healthcare and healthcare infrastructure in the developing world. The department has also encouraged me to present my ideas and insights at the national and international level through publication and poster presentations as well as participation in international conferences in countries like Egypt, Netherlands, Portugal, India and Germany as an official delegate of my country to the IPSF. These IPSF conferences were aimed at development of abilities and competency related to advocacy and global healthcare leadership. In a nutshell, I am proud to say it has been more than a privilege to be part of the fantastic environment of knowledge, science and leadership in the Department of Pharmacy at BRAC University.

It was my pleasure to attend the undergraduate Pharmacy program at BRAC University. This program allowed me to gain essential skills on a variety of disciplines and techniques and integrate what components of each I found useful for my interests and goals. In-depth theoretical approach backed by intensive lab experiments has been a great source of knowledge. The guidance I received from my instructors really made it a great experience. I completed the program with the satisfaction that I reached an important milestone on my road to success.

The four years at the B. Pharm. program at BRAC University have been a very transformational journey for me, one filled with deep reflection, internalization and experience. With the support from faculty members, I was able to not only maximize my learning experience but also take part in meaningful discussions in and out of the classroom.
The didactic teaching method, highly inspired by our faculty members, always motivated me to ask meaningful questions in the class and as a result, I was able to receive a very thorough and in-depth understanding. Upon further introspection, I now realize that the immersive classroom experience, backed up by the psychologically safe learning environment, always motivated me to strive for excellence as an individual and also helped me grow as a very dynamic team player in meeting deadlines collectively as a group. Last but not the least, it goes without mentioning that the hands-on learning experience at the laboratory, challenged the breadth of my knowledge, thereby enhancing my skill sets.
The cumulative learning experience in class and in laboratory, has helped me to grow conscious of the stakes that pharmacy and medicine – individually and together – have on the lives of people. It made me aware of the inevitable paradigm shift in the understanding and scope of pharmacy in the lives of people, which is no doubt, broadening.
