Pictures can be used as media for teaching vocabulary. The problem of this research was " How is the fifth year students vocabulary achievement through pic.lures at SON Kepatihan V Jember in tr,e 2002 I 2003 academic year. " The general objective of this research was to describe the fifth year students voc::tbulary achievement through pictures at SON k・ーセエゥィ。ョ@ V Jember in the 2002

I 2003 academic year. The research design was 、・ウエM」ゥQMQセ Zカ・N@ The respondents were taken by population method with the number of 30 students of the fifth grade. Vocabulary test througt r'ictures was used to obtain the pri::12rv data, while, interview and 、ッ」オュ・ョエセエゥ」Aャ@ \'.'ere usee' lo get the supporting data. Tl,_ --ollec.;td primary data in the fo:m of th{' ウエオ、・ZMセエウᄋ@ vocabulary scores were n:1alyzed quantitatively in the percent:!gc by u::.u.g descriptive statistics. In gen·.!raL .he finding of the r-esearch showed that the students' vo.-;abulary achievement through pictures was W'Od. <;pe:-i£ically, on the average the students' noun vocabulary achievement throt1gh pictures キ。セ@ excellent. Then, the students' adjective, verb, and preposition ·.tocahulary achievement through p1ctures were good.
