Learning materials commonly used in Indonesian schools to support learning goals. Learning material for teaching and learning English are essential in the process of teaching and learning English it self. One of the teaching and learning materials is worksheet. Worksheet is helping students be more active in the teaching and learning process. In addition, worksheet is needed for students’ better learning in helping students to achieve basic competencies and learning objectives.
Worksheet facilitates students to develop critical and creative thinking skills (Harwati & Rokhmat, 2021, p. 3). One of the advantages of developing worksheet is that the researcher can be designed according to the circumstances of student characteristics. This research aimed to develop a worksheet for English of the eighth grade students at junior high school. Using a qualitative method with research design is Research and Development (R&D). The steps of this research are research and information collecting, planning, and develop preliminary form of the product.
The process of development is firstly, identifying the components of worksheet, and secondly, put the data into each category of worksheets components. Thirdly, the worksheet is drafted and fourthly, the worksheet is reviewed by an expert, resulting to expert validation. This research found that the characteristics of worksheet for teaching and learning English were based on aspect of developing, worksheet, learning material, English, and Junior High School. This worksheet can be used for teachers and student as a learning material in teaching and learning English process.
