Abstract
Issues in CV. Rose Furniture Production Advantage is not optimal because the manual way. The accuracy in the optimization of the production profits are less accurate and takes a long time. The goal is to get the optimum benefit. So with that made an application to optimize production profits using the simplex method. Making Applications using the waterfall model and the 8 golden rules. The result is able to determine X1, X2, ... , Xn to obtain total production gains. To take advantage of this application is to determine the optimal gain a more accurate and instantly see results. And the disadvantage is if the data is a lot in the process takes a long time..
Keywords: Simplex method, Optimal, Production gains.
ABSTRAK
Masalah Pada CV.
INTRODUCTION
CV. Rose Furniture is a company engaged in the manufacture of furniture to home furnishings such as cabinets, chairs, tables, and beds. As a profit-oriented company, wishes CV. Rose Furniture is to benefit as much as possible with the smallest cost in the middle of all the existing limitations. This problem can be solved by using the simplex method.
RESEARCH METHODS
Research methods are used:
1 Study Library
Read, understand, and studied carefully from a book - a book and various articles related to this topic, the Simplex method. Digging other literature sources that also supports, such as journals, discussion forums, expert opinion.
2 Method of Analysis
At this stage of the analysis will be done on the system that is running the company. The analysis was done by conducting surveys and interviews with the owner of the company. The analysis was performed in order to obtain production data, sales data, and also the production cost data.
3 Design Method
At this stage would be to design an application program. This design includes the inputs, outputs, and processes required.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
Linear Programming Method
Linear Programming is a mathematical technically designed to help managers plan and make decisions in allocating limited resources to achieve company goals.
The company's goal is maximizing profits in general, but due to limited resources, the company can also minimize costs (Pangalajo, 2009).
Linear Programming has four special traits inherent, ie (Pangalajo, 2009): 1 Resolution trouble leads to maximization or minimization goal achievement. 2 Typical constraints limit the degree of achievement of objectives.
3 There are several alternative settlement. 4 The mathematical relationship is linear
According to Sri Mulyono (2007) form a linear program is: The objective function:
With restrictions:
Specification:
Z:the value of the objective function.
Cj: the contribution per unit of activity, to the maximization problem
Cj: show a profit or revenue per unit, while in the case of minimization shows the cost per unit. Xj: number of activities j, where j = 1, 2, 3, ... n. here means there are n decision variables. aij: number of resource i consumed resource j.
bi: the amount of resource i (i = 1, 2, ..., m).
Simplex method
According to Hamdy A Taha (2007) suggested that an algebraic method of solving each problem can Linear programming.
According Indrayanti (2013) There are a few that must be considered in solving the optimization problem using the simplex method are:
1.Nilai Kanan (NK) / Right hand slide (RHS) of the objective function must be zero (0).
2.Nilai Kanan(NK) / Right Hand Slides (RHS) constraint functions must be positive if negative, the value must be multiplied by -1.
3.Function constraints with "≤" should be changed to a form of "=" by adding slack variables (surplus). Variable slack (surplus) is also called basic variables.
4.Function constraints with the sign "=" should be added artificial variable (M).
5.Function constraints with the sign "≥" is converted to a form of "≤" by multiplying by -1, and then converted to the form of equations with slack variables are added. Then as Nilai Kanan (NK ) / Right Hand Slides (RHS) negative, multiplied by -1 and add artificial variable (M).
evaluation
After running the application program production profit calculation using the simplex method, then the CV. Rose Furniture can make a production plan for the next period based on the estimates obtained.
As an example can be seen, from the calculation, the calculation results in Figure 4.6 can be in the know that the next period sales forecast at CV. Rose Furniture is a product HPP Economy Sleeding 3P = 50, HPP products Buffet 160 = 150, and the Wardrobe HPP Vegetable 3p = 100. Gain optimal production is USD 78.221.350.00
So by optimizing profits, the production process can be controlled in order to avoid excess or shortage of production which could hurt the company. In addition, it can estimate the gains that will affect the development of the company.
CONCLUSION
From the analysis and description of the discussion in the previous chapter, can be taken the following decisions:
1. production profit calculation program with the simplex method can help CV. Rose Furniture in determining the number of products to be produced in the next period and determine the
production gains that would be obtained in the following period.
2 The results obtained using the simplex method is CV. Rose Furniture should produce the product in the following period: HPP 3P Economy Sleeding = 50, 160 = 150 Buffet HPP and HPP Wardrobe Vegetable 3p = 100. Optimum benefit obtained is Rp 78,221,350.00.
3 The use of this program can improve the efficiency of production because it can allocate the appropriate resources so that the maximum benefit.
Some suggestions can be submitted to the other researchers are:
1 For further research of this application program can digabungan with other methods, such as fuzzy linear programming.
