Recently, advanced technology of microwave has been an attention for biodiesel synthesis. Nyamplung seed oil (Callophylum inophyllum) containing oil with high free fatty acid (FFA). This oil was utilizied as a non-edible oil feedstock for biodiesel production. Microwave technology used as heating system for esterification process to reduce the FFA content for produce a high-quality product. Ionic liquid is used as enviromentally-friendly and promising acid catalyst for biodiesel syntesis owing to their benefical characteristics such as high catalytic activity, high selectivity, and available to recycling. In this paper, 1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium hydgen sulfate BMIMHSO4 was used as a catalyst and microwave as heating system for esterification reaction of Callophylum inophyllum seed oil. The object of this paper are to know about kinetic model in esterification reaction and kinetics parameters such as activation energy (E) and frequency factor (A). The results indicated that microwave-assisted esterification was of pseudo-homogen second-order reaction with the activation energy of 2830 J/mol and frequency factor (A) 3,86 minutes-1 using 15% catalyst and molar ratio oil:methanol was 1:40.
