PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN Lactobacillus sp PADA PEMBUATAN SILASE PUCUK TEBU (Saccharum officinarum) TERHADAP
POPULASI BAKTERI DAN PROTOZOA CAIRAN RUMEN DOMBA (In Vitro)

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Nutrisi Ternak Ruminansia, Balai Penelitian Ternak, Ciawi, Bogor pada bulan 1 Juni – 20 Juli 2013. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh penambahan Lactobacillus sp dalam pembuatan silase pucuk tebu (Saccharum officinarum) terhadap populasi bakteri dan protozoa cairan rumen domba (in vitro). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan secara eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan yaitu, P0 (pucuk tebu tanpa fermentasi dan aditif), P1 (silase pucuk tebu dengan penambahan molases 3%), P2 (silase pucuk tebu dengan penambahan molases 3% dan Lactobacillus sp 0,5%). Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 6 kali. Peubah yang diamati adalah jumlah populasi bakteri dan protozoa cairan rumen domba (In Vitro). Data dianalisa menggunakan analisis varian dan dilanjutkan dengan Uji Contrast Orthogonal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian molases dan Lactobacillus sp memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap bakteri rumen, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap protozoa rumen. Penambahan molases 3% pada silase pucuk tebu (P1) menghasilkan jumlah populasi bakteri yang paling baik.

ABSTRACT
The research was conducted at Laboratory of Ruminant Nutrition, Balai Penelitian Ternak Ciawi, Bogor on 1 June – 20 July 2013. The objective of research was to find out the effect of Lactobacillus sp addition at sugarcane tops ensilage (Saccharum officinarum) on bacteria and protozoa population of sheep rumen liquid (in vitro). This research used an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). There are 3 kind of treatments namely: P0 (sugarcane tops without fermentation and additive), P1 (sugarcane tops silage added with molasses 3%), P2 (sugarcane tops silage added with molasses 3% and Lactobacillus sp 0,5%) and each treatments was replicated 6 times. The observed parameters were total bacteria and protozoa population of sheep rumen liquid (In Vitro). The data were analyzed by variant analysis and followed by Contrast Orthogonal Test. The result of research indicated that molasses and Lactobacillus sp addition had significant effect on bacteria rumen, but had no effect on protozoa rumen. The additions of molasses 3% on sugarcane tops ensilage (P1) have the best result on total population of bacteria.
