C. Tujuan Pembelajaran

Melalui kegiatan diskusi, peserta didik diharapkan dapat mengidentifkasi fungsi sosial, struktur text dan unsur kebahasaan text narrative lisan dan tulis sederhana tentang legenda rakyat, serta mampu menentukan pesan moral yang terdapat pada text narrative dengan tepat .

• Narrative Text

1. Fungsi sosial: fungsi sosial narative adalah entertain/to amuse the reader (menghibur) 2. Struktur teks:

• Orientation : It is about the opening paragraph where the characters of the story are introduced.(berisi pengenalan tokoh, tempat dan waktu terjadinya cerita (siapa atau apa, kapan dan dimana)

• Complication : Where the problems in the story developed. (Permasalahan muncul / mulai terjadi dan berkembang)

• Resolution : Where the problems in the story is solved. Masalah selesai, --- secara baik "happy ending"

ataupun buruk "bad ending".

• Grammar : past tense ( V 2 dan to be ( was / were )

• Adverb of time : long tine ago,once upon a time.etc

THE LEGEND OF MALIN KUNDANG

A long time ago, in a small villlage near the beach in west Sumatra lived a woman and her son, Malin Kundang. Malin Kundang and his mother had to live hard because his father had passed away when he was a baby.

Malin Kundang was a healthy, diligent, and strong biy. He usually went to sea to catch fish. After getting fish he would bring it to his mother, or sell the caught fish in the town.

One day, when Malin Kundang was sailing, he saw a merchant’s shep being raided by a band of pirates.

With his bravery, Malin Kundang helped the merchant defeat the pirates. To thank him, the merchant allowed malin Kundang to sail with him. Malin Kundang agreed in the hope to get a better life. He left his mother alone.

Many years later, Malin Kundang became wealthy, he had huge ship and a lot of crews who worked loading trading goods. He was also married to a beatiful woman. When he was sailing on his trading journey, his ship landed on a coast near a small village. The local people recognized that it was Malin Kundang, a boy from the area. The news ran fast in the town “ Malin Kundang has become rich and now he is here”.

An old woman, who was Malin Kundang’s mother, ran to the beach to meet the new rich merchant. She wanted to hug him to release her sadness of being lonely after a long time. When his mother came near him, Malin Kundang who was with his beautiful wife and his ship crews denied that she was his mother, She had pleaded Malin kundang to look at her and admit that she was her mother. But he kept refusing to do it and yelling at her. At last Malin Kundang said to her.”Enough, old woman! After that he ordered his crews to set sail to lkeave the old woman who was then full of sadness and anger. Finally, feeling enraged, she cursed Malin Kundang that he would turn into a stone if he didn’tbapologize to her. Malin Kundang that he would turn into a stone if he didn’t apologize to her. Malin Kundang just laughed and set sail. Suddenly a hunderstone came in the quite sea, wrecking his huge ship. He was thrown out to a small island. It was really too late for him to avoid his curse, he had turned into a stone.

G. Kegiatan Pembelajaran

➢ Kegiatan Pendahuluan (2 Menit)

1. Guru membuka pembelajaran dengan mengucapkan salam, berdoa, menanyakan kondisi dan mengecek kehadiran siswa

2. Guru memberikan motivasi peserta didik dan menyampaikan manfaat dan tujuan pembelajaran tentang materi yang akan dibahas

3. Guru melakukan apersepsi dengan mengaitkan materi/tema/kegiatan pembelajaran yang akan dilakukan dengan pengalaman peserta didik dan dengan materi/tema/kegiatan sebelumnya

➢ Kegiatan inti (6 Menit)

1. Peserta didik mengamati sebuah teks yang ditamplkan oleh guru

2. Peserta didik melakukan tanya jawab terkait teks yang ditampilkan oleh guru

3. Guru menampilkan sebuah slide yang berisi penjelasan tentang fungsi sosial, struktur text,dan unsur unsur kebahasaan yang terdapat dalam sebuah text narrative

4. Peserta didik menyimak dan mencermati penjelasan yang diberikan oleh guru 5. Guru membagi peserta didik menjadi beberapa kelompok yang terdiri dari 4-5 orang.

6. Masing masing kelompok diberikan text narrative yang berbeda kemudian diminta untuk mendiskusikan fungsi sosial, struktur text, unsur kenahasaan dan pesan moral yang terdapat pada text tersebut.

7. Setiap kelompok diberikan kesempatan untuk menampilkan hasil diskusi mereka didepan kelas, dan kelompok yang lain memberikan tanggapan atas hasil diskusi mereka.

➢ Kegiatan Penutup (2 Menit)

1. Guru melakukan refleksi dan mengarahkan peserta didik untuk membuat kesimpulan, serta menyampaikan hasil evaluasi selama proses pembelajaran.

2. Guru memberikan penugasan secara indvidu untuk mencari sebuah text legenda rakyat dari daerah masing masing

3. Guru menyampaikan materi untuk pertemuan selanjutnya 4. Guru mengakhiri pembelajaran dengan mengucapkan salam C. Penilaian Pembelajaran

SANGKURIANG

Once upon a time in West Java, Indonesia, lived a princess named Dayang Sumbi. She was beautiful and kind-hearted. Her hobby was weaving cloth. But sometimes she could be very lazy. One day her weaving tool fell, but she was too lazy to get it herself. She shouted out, “Can anybody help me get my tool? If you are a female, I will take you as my sister. If you are a male, I will marry you!”

A male creature came, but it was a dog. His name was Tumang. He happily brought the tool to her. Dayang Sumbi was very surprised, but she kept her promise. She married the dog. Tumang was actually a man who had been cursed by a witch to become a dog. But at certain times Tumang could turn back to be a normal man. Their only son, Sangkuriang, was soon born, and he grew up to be a handsome and healthy boy. He always played with his very loyal dog, Tumang. He did not know that he was actually his father, because Dayang Sumbi hid the secret from him. Sangkuriang liked to hunt in the woods, of course with Tumang.

One day Dayang Sumbi asked him to bring home a deer’s heart. But, after hunting for several days, he could not find any deer in the woods. He did not want to disappoint his mother and was thinking hard how to bring home a deer’s heart. Suddenly, he had a very bad idea. He killed Tumang! Then, he brought his heart home and gave it to Dayang Sumbi.

Sangkuriang could not cheat her. She knew it was Tumang’s heart. So, she got very angry and hit Sangkuriang’s forehead with a piece of wood and told him to leave. With a bad wound on his forehead, Sangkuriang left the village.

Many years later, Sangkuriang grew up to be a powerful man. One day he went back to his village. He met a beautiful young woman there, and he fell in love with her at the first sight. It was Dayang Sumbi! She never got older because she had been granted eternal youth by the gods. Sangkuriang did not know that she was his mother, so he came to her and proposed to marry her.

When he walked closer to her, Dayang Sumbi got very surprised. She saw the scar in Sangkuriang’s forehead, and soon she knew that he was her son, who left her a long time ago. She told him the truth and tried hard to explain it to him, but he did not believe her. She did not want to break his heart, so she accepted his proposal but gave him an impossible thing to do. She wanted him to build a lake and a boat in just one night!

Sangkuriang agreed, because he knew that he could make it with the help of his genies. By midnight he finished the lake and then started making the boat. Dayang Sumbi was thinking hard to find a way to fail him. Before dawn, she asked the people in the village to burn the woods in the East, and the light made all the cocks’ crow. Thinking that the night would be over soon, the genies ran fast and left Sangkuriang before the boat was finished. Sangkuriang realized that Dayang Sumbi had cheated him. He got very angry and he kicked the boat upside down. It gradually became a mountain and it is now known as Mt. Tangkuban Perahu.
