In the last five years, cow meat production in Indonesia fluctuates, however, it has a positive trend. In 2001, production reached 338.7 thousand ton, while in 2002 cow meat production declined 2.5% compared to the previous year, meaning that production growth is opposite to consumption growth which kept increasing, especially household sector. This phenomenon is interesting to watch, however, due to lack of data, factors that created this situation cannot be stated here. After downhill period, cow meat production showed increase during 2004; it reached 447.5 thousand ton(17.4% growth). In 2005 it is predicted to reach 463.8 thousand ton(3.5%growth), relatively small compared to 2003-2004 growth. Household demand was the factor behind this growth. In All, production of Indonesia cow meat during 2001-2005 is still very small compared to world production. Indonesia cow meat production is only 0.7% of the world production, equal to 390 thousand ton per year.
