DOWNPOUR STILL IN THE HORIZON

Jakarta, Oct 29, 2010– PT Sampoerna Agro Tbk. "“a poer a Agro" or the Co pa released its fi a ial and operational results for the period ending in September 30, 2010.

Heavy shower still persist in the third quarter of 2010, our oil producing areas located in South Sumatra and Central Kalimantan continued to receive similar amount of rainfall as the previous quarter. Based on field observation, the amount of rainfall in Sumatra estates for the first nine months of this year reached 89% of total amount collected in the full year of 2009. The weather condition is worse in Kalimantan estates which received 54% more rain in the first nine months of 2010 versus the full twelve months of 2009. The weather condition is believed to stick around until first quarter of 2011.

Between January till September of 2010, the Company produced 901,090 tons of FFB, or 9% higher than the same period last year. All of the output growth is contributed by Sumatra estates that booked 11% higher output this year versus last year while Kalimantan estates produced 2% less FFB within the same time periods.

Total CPO output as of September 30, 2010 totaled to be 186,255 tons, or 3.5% higher than the same period of 2009. According to statistics released Mala sia Pal Oil Board MPOB , total CPO output for the country within the first nine months of 2010 reached 12.7 million tons, or about 2% higher than the same period of previous year.

Market price of CPO recorded by MPOB during third quarter of 2010 averaged MYR2,639, or 4% higher than average price in the previous quarter. On average, Sampoerna Agro managed to sell its CPO at Rp6.83 million per ton in the first nine months of 2010, or 5% higher than Rp6.52 million per ton booked in the second quarter of 2010. CPO is the main revenue contributor to the Company which generated Rp1.16 trillion in the first nine months of 2010, or having contributed 89% to total company revenue. Approximately 94% of these revenue from CPO was generated by selling within domestic market.

The Company recorded revenue totalling Rp1.27 trillion in the period ending September 2010, or 15% higher than the Rp1.19 trillion recorded in the same period of 2009. This is mainly due to higher average selling price compounded with increased sales volume of its CPO.

At this time, several industry experts, as quoted in a number of reputable news sources, indicated that they are still bullish on CPO price in the near term. Main reasons given are increased demand arising from the upcoming festivities in major CPO consuming countries and tightening supply of CPO and its substitutes due to existing La Nina weather pattern happening globally.
