Co pa released its audited financial results along with its operational statistics for full year 2014
FY14 .
Our profitability for FY14 recovered pronouncedly as revenue rose 27% to Rp3.24 trillion, from Rp2.56 trillion in the previous year. The increase was mainly attributable to higher volumes and selling prices among key products. The rise in revenue was reflected in earnings, however, higher productivity that more than offseted rising costs, helped pushed net profit further to Rp350.1 billion, surging 191% relative to the previous year.
Higher productivity accomplishments highlight the year’s progress. Oil extraction rates, a measure of crop productivity, climb from 20.7% in 2013 to 21.7% in 2014. The improvements come after a series of field intensification initiatives taken within the past several years, along with maturing age profile of our nucleus estates. Our nucleus estates is at a favorable stage, with an average age of nine years, meaning productivity will be on the rise in upcoming years towards the peak age of fifteen. Hence, these strengthening of fundamentals happening within Sampoerna Agro should set the tone for company performance in the years to come.
As with previous years, two key products represented a major portion of the Company revenue in 2014. Combined revenue contribution from Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Palm Kernel (PK) reached Rp3.10 trillion, or 95% of total revenue, and 28% higher against the previous year. The increase was attributable to higher selling prices and sales volumes.
Selling price for CPO averaged Rp8,351 per kg in 2014, or 16% higher than 2013 average while PK was sold at an average price of Rp4,905 per kg, or 38% higher. Sales volume for both products also rose in 2014 versus the previous year, 10% more for CPO and 1% additional for PK.
The escalating volumes were made possible due to rising Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) production from the palm oil estates under management that reached 1.52 million tons, or 12% higher than 1.36 million tons booked in 2013. CPO output escalated even further, at 19% higher, amounting to 321,416 tons in 2014, from 271,206 tons in 2013. Furthermore, production contribution from nucleus estates, with its higher profitability, had steadily climbed from 36% share in 2007 to reach 52% in 2014.
Closing the year 2014, Sampoerna Agro successfully added some 12,600 hectares of planted area across its 3-crop portfolio which translated to approximately 9% rate of expansion achievement for the year.
