ABSTRACT
This study intends to find out how the of information dissemination on street vendors communities in the Old Gate of Unpad Jatinangor campus. The background of this study is the street vendors’ activities a round the Old Gate of Unpad Jatinangor campus in employing, seeking, and transfering information among them through the means they used to use. This study uses a qualitative survey descriptive approach, which seeks data collection through observation, interviews, and documentary studies and literature. The results of the research are: (1) There are at least two moments where a street vendors around the Old Gates of Unpad Jatinangor campus access or seek information about attempt to coping with waste, that is, those someone at the time when a new to street vendors in the old gate Jatinangor campus, which are in the condition that they are "blind" or do not recognize the environment, and when the price of the main ra w materials of their products rise without any information dissemination; (2) the most frequent type of information accessed by the street vendors a round the Old Gates of Unpad Jatinangor campus intheir information dissemination are oriented more on information on preferences and hobbies (affective, cognitive) than information about the interests of the profession; (3) the sources of information of the street vendors around the Old Gates of Unpad Jatinangor campus in their information dissemination are people and media, both printedand electronic; (4) individual attitudes of the street vendors a round the Old Gatesof Unpad Jatinangor campus on the information dissemination in their communities are active, in the sense that the street vendors utilizethe available sources of information to meet their needs for something.
