ABSTRACT
This research is a qua ntitative one that aims to determine the relationship between
subjective well-being and Internet addiction in adolescents. The subject of the study of 60
people has used simple random sampling technique (random sampling), that is the
sampling technique of ra ndom members of the population regardless of the strata (levels) in
members of the population. (Sugiyono, 2011). The Variable of subjective well-being was
measured using marriageable standard of life satisfaction sca le (MSLSS) from Huebner
(2001) consisting of 31 used items and the positive and negative affective scale (PANAS) of
Watson (1988) consisting of 8 used items. The Internet Addiction was measured using the
internet addiction test of Young (1996) consisting of used 18 items. Data were analyzed
using pearson product moment correlation analysis technique and the results of correlation
obtained was -0.016 With the significance of 0.453 (p> 0.01), shows that there is no
negative correlation between subjective well-being and internet addiction, which means no
matter what the levels of subjective well-being is will not necessarily be followed by a high or
low level of internet addiction.
