ni id, ego, dan superego. Id cenderungberusahamemuaskandorongan libido. Ego berfungsimenjadipenyeimbangantara id dan superego. Superego berusahamengutamakannilai-nilai moral. Metode yang digunakanadalahmetodedeskriptifdimana data dalamskripsiiniberupapaparanbahasa
yang mengandungpikiran, sikap, danperilakukeduatokohutamadalambentuk dialog sertanarasi yang terjadiantarakeduatokohutamadantokohlainnya. Dari
analisisditemukanbahwa ego dalamkepribadiankeduatokohutamamengalahkandorongan id dan superego
dalammenghadapidilemamerekamasing-masing.
x ABSTRACT
This thesis titled ”A PSYCHO ANALYSIS IN THE MAIN CHARACTERS IN RICHARD PRESCOTT'S NOVEL "Officially DEAD". This thesis discusses about the psychological aspects of the two main characters in the face of their respective dilemmas. The theory used in analyzing both the main characters is a psychoanalytic theory proposed by Sigmund Freud. This theory states that the human personality, there are three important structures namely id, ego, and superego. Id tend to try to satisfy the libido boost. Ego serves to balance between id and superego. Superego trying prioritizing moral values. The method used is descriptive method where the data in this paper in the form of exposure to language that carries thoughts, attitudes, and behaviors of the two main characters in the form of dialogue and narration that occurs between the two main characters and other figures. From the analysis it was found that personality ego in both the main characters beat encouragement id and superego in the face of their dilemma.
