Acknowledgements
Foremost, I want to thank my Lord Jesus Christ for giving me peace and strength when I had almost lost it all and also catching my every fall and keeping me safe. He has done so many bountiful things in my life and I found my saving grace within Him. “I can do everything through Him who give me strength.” (Phillipians 4: 13).
Second of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my former supervisor, Mrs. Neny Isharyanti, M.A. and Mrs. Frances L. Sinanu, S.Pd. for their patience and guidance as well as being incredibly amazing role models to me. Besides, I would like to thank Mr. Brandon Donelson-Sims, M.A. so much for his patience, motivation, encouragement, and immense knowledge in guiding me in writing of this thesis. I cannot imagine having a better advisor and mentor for my undergraduate study. I am so humbled that I had Mr. Petrus Ari Santoso, M.A. as my examiner. I thank him so much for being so kind to spend some time to examine my paper. A deep appreciation goes out to him.
A very special thanks goes out to my beloved family for their unconditional support, both financially and emotionally throughout my degree. Without them, I am just no one. Their kindness, love, encouragement, prayers, and understanding mean the whole world to me so I owe them my eternal gratitude.
Of course, I would also like to thank my dear friends so much, Melanie and Valerie; for this thesis would not have been possible without their participation. Their patience, understanding, and assistance are greatly appreciated.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the outcome of culture shock
that two IMLAC students came upon and examine how the strategies of
cross-cultural flexibility are employed to help these students muddle through
the setbacks they came across. This study was conducted by assembling open
ended questionnaire and interview form. By means of the method used, the
two participants disclosed their outlook on how they dealt with cross-cultural
matters that arose. It is found that furnishing one’s self by obtaining lots of
information about the host culture, participating vigorously and frequently
in cultural occasions, and last but not least, forming a strong base of
networks with various kinds of people will diminish culture shock and
