KEADAAN GEOGRAFI DAN IKLIM

Pada bab ini menyajikan gambaran umum daerah Kota Kendari yang mencakup letak geografis, batas wilayah, luas wilayah, jenis tanah dan keadaan iklim.

1.1 Keadaan Geografi

1.1.1 Luas wilayah

Wilayah Kota Kendari terletak di sebelah Tenggara Pulau Sulawesi.

Wilayah daratannya terdapat di daratan Pulau Sulawesi mengelilingi Teluk Kendari. Terdapat satu pulau pada wilayah kota Kendari yang dikenal sebagai Pulau Bungkutoko. Luas wilayah daratan Kota Kendari 269,363 Km² atau 0,70 persen dari luas daratan Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara.

Luas wilayah menurut Kecamatan sangat beragam.

Kecamatan Baruga merupakan wilayah kecamatan yang paling luas (18,09%), selanjutnya Kecamatan Abeli (16,28%), Kecamatan Poasia (14,31%), Kecamatan Puuwatu (14,24%), Kecamatan Kambu (8,88%), Kecamatan Mandonga (8,65%), Kecamatan Kendari Barat (7,09%), Kecamatan Kendari (5,82%), Kecamatan Wua-Wua (4,14%), dan Kecamatan Kadia

GEOGRAPHY AND CLIMATE CONDITION

This chapter presents an overview of Kendari City area that includes the geographic location, boundaries, area, type of soil and climatic conditions.

1.1 Geography Condition

1.1.1 Total Area

Kendari City area located in south east of Sulawesi island. Its regional land is on the mainland of Sulawesi island which around Kendari Bay. There is an island in Kendari City region which recognized as Pulau Bungkutoko. The total land area of Kendari is 269.363 km² or 0.70 percent of the land area of Sulawesi Tenggara Province.

The total area by district is very diverse, Baruga district represents the most extensive areas (18.09%), then Abeli district (16,28%), Poasia district (14,31%), Puuwatu district (14,24%), Kambu district (8,88%), Mandonga district (8,65%), Kendari Barat district (7,09%), and Kendari district (5,82%),Wua-Wua district (4,14%) and Kadia district (2,50%)

Wilayah Kota Kendari dengan ibu kotanya Kendari dan sekaligus juga sebagai ibukota Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara secara astronomis terletak di bagian selatan garis khatulistiwa berada di antara 3^o 54`

30``- 4ô 3` 11`` Lintang Selatan dan membentang dari Barat ke Timur diantara 122ô 23`- 122ô 39` Bujur Timur.

Sepintas tentang posisi geografisnya, Kota Kendari memiliki batas-batas sebelah Utara - Kabupaten Konawe; Timur - Laut Kendari ; Selatan - Kabupaten Konawe Selatan ; Barat - Kabupaten Konawe Selatan. Kota Kendari terbentuk dengan Undang-Undang Republik Indonesia Nomor 6 Tahun 1995 yang disyahkan pada tanggal 3 Agustus 1995 dengan status Kotamadya Daerah Tingkat II Kendari.

1.1.2 Tinggi wilayah

Dilihat berdasarkan ketinggian wilayah kota Kendari di atas permukaan laut, kecamatan Mandonga merupakan wilayah tertinggi berada pada ketinggian 30 meter di atas permukaan laut.

Selanjutnya wilayah Kecamatan Abeli dan Kendari Barat berada pada ketinggian 3 meter di atas permukaan laut.

1.2 Keadaan Iklim

1.2.1 Suhu, kelembaban, dan

Territory of Kendari City with Kendari as its capital and also as the capital of Sulawesi Tenggara Province, astronomically is located in the southern of equator line between 3ô 54` 30``- 4ô 3` 11``south latitude and stretching from west to east between 122ô 23`- 122ô 39èast longitude.

At a glance about the geographic position, Kendari City has boundaries as follows North – Konawe regency; East – Kendari sea;

South – Konawe Selatan regency;

West – Konawe Selatan regency.

Kendari City has formed by Republic of Indonesia Law No. 6/ 1995 that was ratified on August 3^rd, 1995 which status as the Regional Municipality of Level II Kendari.

1.1.2 Altitude Area

Judging by the altitude above sea level of Kendari City region, Mandonga district is the highest region which altitude is on 30 meters above sea level. Furthermore Abeli district and Kendari Barat district are at altitude 3 meters above sea level.

1.2 Climate Condition

Sebagaimana daerah-daerah lain di Indonesia, Kota Kendari hanya dikenal dua musim yakni musim kemarau dan musim hujan. Keadaan musim sangat dipengaruhi oleh arus angin yang bertiup di atas wilayahnya.

Menurut data yang diperoleh dari Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi dan Geofisika Stasiun Meteorologi Maritim Kendari tahun 2011 terjadi 187 hari hujan dengan curah hujan 1.855, mm.

Suhu udara dipengaruhi oleh berbagai macam faktor. Perbedaan ketinggian dari permukaan laut, daerah pegunungan dan daerah pesisir mengakibatkan keadaan suhu yang sedikit beda untuk masing-masing tempat dalam suatu wilayah. Secara keseluruhan, wilayah Kota Kendari merupakan daerah bersuhu tropis.

Menurut data yang diperoleh dari Badan Meteorologi dan Geofisika Stasiun Maritim Kendari, selama tahun 2011 suhu udara maksimum 32,7 ^oC dan minimum 29,96 ^oC. Tekanan udara rata-rata 1.011,7 millibar dengan kelembaban udara rata-rata 84,58 persen. Kecepatan angin di Kota Kendari selama tahun 2011 pada umumnya berjalan normal, mencapai 6,07 m/detik.

As with other areas in Indonesia, Kendari known only two seasons namely dry season and rainy season. The season condition is strongly influenced by the current season winds blow over the region.

According to data obtained from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency Maritime Meteorology Station of Kendari in 2011 occurred 187 rain days with rainfall 1,855 mm.

Air temperatures are influenced by various factors. Differences in altitude from sea level, the mountains and coastal areas resulting in a slightly different temperature conditions for each place in a region.

Overall, Kendari City is an area of tropical temperatures.

According to data obtained from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency Maritime Station of Kendari, during the year 2010 the maximum of air temperature is 32,7 ^oC and 29,96 ^oC minimum.

Average air pressure is 1,011.7 millibars with average humidity 84.58 percent. Wind veloCity in Kendari City during 2011 generally was normal, reaching 6,07 m / sec.
