Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman makro-zoobentos dan untuk mengetahui hubungan parameter fisika kimia perairan terhadap keanekaragaman makrozoobentos di Perairan Laut Belawan, Kota Medan Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Parameter kualitas air yang diamati adalah suhu, oksigen terlarut (DO),TOM, dan salinitas. Pengamatan dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali dalam tiga stasiun penelitian. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali ulangan pada masing-masing stasiun. Analisis regresi digunakan untuk mengetahui hubungan keanekaragaman makrozoobentos dengan faktor lingkungan (fisika dan kimia). Berdasarkan hasil analisis regresi diperoleh bahwa parameter kualitas di lokasi penelitian memiliki hubungan yang kuat dengan indeks keanekaragaman makrozoobenthos, dengan nilai R di lokasi KJA sebesar 0,912 (R2 : 0,840) dan dilokasi Non KJA sebesar 0,764 (R2 : 0,644). Berdasarkan hasil Uji T diperoleh bahwa keanekaragaman makrozoobenthos di lokasi KJA berbeda sangat nyata dibanding lokasi Non KJA.

The objective of study were to determine the diversity index of macrozoobenthos and to analyze the correlation of several water quality parameters to the diversity of macrozoobenthos by suing regression anlysis, and to compare the diversity of macrozoobenthos in floating cages nets (KJA) area with Non KJA area by using T test. The research used survey method and water quality parameters measured were temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO), TOM and salinity. Observations were carried out three times in two research stations. Sampling was conducted three replications at each station. Based on the regression analysis showed that water qualities had significant correlation to diversity index of macrozzoobenthos. The correlation coefficient (R) in the KJA area was 0912 (R2 : 0,840) while in non KJA area was 0,764 (R2 : 0,644). Trough T test showed that the macrozoobenthos diversity was highly significant difference between KJA area and non KJA area.
