1999 CALIBRATION MARKS
(Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Indonesia No. 307/MPP/Kep/6/1998, dated June 24, 1998)
THE MINISTER OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE
Considering:
a. that for the implementation of calibration and re-calibration of gauging, measuring and weighing instruments and their equipment (UTTP) in 1999, it is
necessary to stipulate the 1999 calibration marks;
b. that for this purpose it is necessary to issue a decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade.
In view of:
1. Law No. 2/1981 on legal metrology (Statute Book No. 11/1991, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3193);
2. Government Regulation No. 26/1983 on the tariffs of calibration charges (Statute Book No. 35/1983, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3257), as
already amended by Government Regulation No. 16/1986 (Statute Book No.
22/1986, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3329);
3. Government Regulation No. 2/1985 on the obligation for and exemption from calibration and/or re-calibration and the requirements for gauging,
measuring, weighing instruments and their equipment (Statute Book No.
4/1985, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3283);
4. Presidential Decree No. 46/1979 on compulsory calibration and re-calibration of gas meters;
Development Reform Cabinet;
7. Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 29/MPP/SK/2/1996 jo. No. 92/MPP/Kep/4/1998 on the organization and working procedure of the
Ministry of Industry and Trade;
8. Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 61/MPP/Kep/2/1998 on the establishment of metrological affairs.

THE DECREE OF THE MINISTER OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE ON 1999 CALIBRATION MARKS
Article 1
The 1999 calibration marks comprice validation marks, cansellation marks,
warranty marks, regional marks and authorized personnel marks.
Article 2
(1) Validation marks cancellation marks shall be affixed or placed on gauging, measuring, weighing instruments and their equipment (UTTP) or on written
certificates in the form of envelopes or labels or other forms, when
calibration or re-calibration is conducted;
(2) Warranty marks shall be affixed and/or placed on UTTP when calibration or-calibration is conducted;
(3) Regional marks and authorized personnel works ahall be affixed and/or

(1) A Validation mark shall be in the shape of a regular pentagon containing inside it the Arabic figure of 99 and being available in 3 (three) sizes, with
the lengths between an angular point to the side opposite it being respectively
8 mm, 4 mm and 2 mm.
(2) The affixing and/or placement of a validation mark as meant in sub-article (1) shal be conducted as from January 1, 1999 up to December 31, 1999.
(3) The validity mark as meant in sub-article (1) shall be valid as from the time it is affixed and/or placed as from January 1, 1999 up to December 31, 1999.
(4) The validity mark as meant in sub-article (1) shall be valid as from the time it is affixed and/or placed up to:
a. the time when the glass gauging instruments are broken or cracked or damaged;
b. November 30, 2009 for 1-(one)-phase and 3 (three)-phaseKWh meters; c. November 30, 2005 for floating gauging tanks and permanent gauging
tanks;
d. November 30, 2004 for low-pressure gas meters; e. November 30, 2004 for water meters;
f. November 30, 2001 for meter provers and gauging vessels specially used to test meter provers;
g. November 30, 2000 form other UTTP.
Article 4
A Cancellation mark shall be in the shape of an equilateral triangle containing
inside it parallel straight lines perpendicular to one of the sides and being available
Warranty mark shall be in the shape of a circle containing inside it the picture of a
lotus flower with 8 (eight) leaves and being available in 4 (four) sezes with
diameters measuring 8 mm, 4mm and 2 mm respectively.
Article 6
A regional mark shall be in the shape of an ellipse being available in 2 (two) sizes,
each with a long axis of 8 mm and a short axis of 6 mm and a long axis of 4 mm
and a short axis of 3 mm, and containing inside it an Arabic figure indicating the
code of the laboratory of the Directorate of Metrology or the office of a
metrological division or section.
Article 7
An authorized personnel mark shall be in the form of a circle, being available in 3
(three) sizes with diameters of 8 mm, 5 mm and 4 mm respectivelly and
containing inside it a Latin letter indicating the code of personnel concerned.
Article 8
(1) The cancellation mark as meant in sub-article (1) of Article 2 of this decree shall be valid as from the time when it is affixed and or placed up to the time
when the said UTTP is declared to be able to be used again with a validity
mark being affixed upon it.
(2) The warranty mark, the regional mark and the authorized personnel mark shall be valid from the time when they are affixed and/or placed up to the

The validity mark, the cancellation mark, the warranty mark, the regional mark
and the authorized personnel mark shall be as shown in the specimens in the
attachment to this decree.
Article 10
The enforcement of this decree shall be regulated further by the Director General
of Domestic Trade.
Article 11
This decree shall take effect as from the date of stipulation.
For public cognizance this decree shall be announced by publishing it in the State
Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia.
