ON EXPORT CHECK PRICES OF SAND, WOOD AND RATTAN FOR
THE JANUARY - MARCH, 2003 PERIOD

Since the validity period of Export Check Prices (HPE) of sand, wood and rattan for the October-December
2002 period will expire soon, the new HPE of sand, wood and rattan for the January-March 2003 period are
stipulated (enclosed) with changes being made as follows :
1. Change in HPE of Woods

In the group of Ebony wood, the price decrease from US$ 6,000 per m3 to US$ 4,000 per m3
* In the group of other fancy wood, the price decreases from US$ 6,000 per m3 to US$ 4,000 per m3
2. HPE of rattan and sand do no change so as to remain equal to HPE in the October-December 2002 period.

In relation thereto, we request for your assistance to inform it to Customs and Excise Service Offices
throughout Indonesia as the basis for stipulating export tax on the said commodities.
