PROVISION ON THE EXPORTS OF RATTAN MATS
(Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 34/MPP/Kep/1/1998 dated January 21, 1998)
THE MINISTER OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE Considering:
a. that in the framework of national economic reforms, the enhancement of orderliness in business and support for efforts to conserve natural resources, it is necessary to re-stipulate the provisions on the exports of rattan mats;
b. that to this end it is necessary to issue a decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade.
In view of:
Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 228/MPP/KEP/7/1997 on general provisions in the export area.
DECIDES: To stipulate:
THE DECREE OF THE MINISTER OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE CONCERNING PROVISIONS ON THE EXPORTS OF RATTAN MATS
Article 1
Referred to as rattan mats shall be mats made of split rattan pieces which are holed and sewn to one another to form sheets categorized under HS No. 4601.20.300
Article 2
(2) Companies which may be recognized as ETLRs shall be:
a. companies owning a rattan mat industry and already obtaining an industrial business licence (IUI), or
b. companies not owning a rattan mat industry but establishing a marketing contract with rattan mat industrial companies already obtaining an IUI and not yet recognized as ETLRs.
Article 3
The procedure and requirement for being able to be recognized as an ETLR shall be as follows:
(1) Filing an application to the Director General of International Trade in this case the Director of Exports through a local regional office of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in order to obtain his recommendation
(2) Attaching supporting documents in the form of the following:
• an industrial business licence isuued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade or the investment coordinating board (BKPM).
• As for a company not owning a rattan mat industry, it shall be required to attach a marketing cooperation a local regional office of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and also a trade business licence (SIUP).
• Corporate Registration Mark (TDP); • Taxpayer’s Code Number (NPWP);
• A notarial act on the establishment of the company.
Article 4
Recognition as an ETLR shall be valid indefinitely as long as the requirements are fulfilled and the rattan mat export activities are still carried out.

Exporters violating the provisions in this decree may be subject to the imposition of a sanction on the basis of the prevailing laws.
Article 7
This decree shall take effect as from February 2, 1998
For public cognizance, this decree shall be announced by publishing it in the State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia.
