v ABSTRACT
Children are a gift and also a mandate from God Almighty, which require assistance from their parents, families, communities, and the government in fulfilling their human rights. They certainly have the essential role in determining the nation’s future development. This research is intended to determine the legal protection granted by the government for children who become victims of violence perpetrated by parents, and to identify the legal consequences arising from acts of violence against children.
The research method applied in this study is descriptive analysis; that is by analyzing and describing the studied data, and thus drawing conclusions as the result, The data analysis was done by juridical qualitative by combining the results of research literature and field research. Primary, secondary and tertiary data were acquired as the source data for the research. The primary data were obtained through studies on related legislation, the secondary data were gathered from literature, books and interviews on the research subject, while tertiary data were acquired through relevant dictionaries.
