The Implementation of Contextual Teaching and Learning approach to Increase skill in Writing Description Essay Student IV Class

This research is motivated by some problem of student in writing essay. This is based on the results of priminary observtion indicated that the student’s have trouble in find out idea/opinion, not yet find out make essay that compact and effective, and not yet can to use spelling and diacritical marks with true. To answer this matter sold out action research is implemention of contextual teaching and learning approach to increase skill in writing description essay. The goals to be achieved in this research is : (1) to find out plan learning with implementation of contextual approach in matter writing descriptive essay, (2) find out applying of contextual approach in matter writing description essay, and (3) find out result of skill in writing student after applying the contextual approach in matter writing description essay. This research that is a classroom action research who adaptation from Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model. Because, this research that is performed with some step. Every step to consist of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research sold out in three cycle. The results obtained that the average value of the class in cycle I was 54,5. In cycle II rise to become 72,05, and cycle III to become 81,6. From these data show that after the learning is done through the implementation of a contextual approach, student’s skill in writing description essay to be increased. The conclusion from this research is learning plan writing description essay implementation during the three cycle. Student activity when learning is active and dynamic looks. After implementation contextual approach, skiil student in writing description essay increased in cycle. Based on these finding, it is sugested to Indonesian teachers to implement a contextual approach as approach learning which can improve student skill in writing essay description.
