ABSTRACT
THE EFFECT OF BRAND IMAGE AND THE REFERENCE GROUP IN PURCHASING DECISIONS TUPPERWARE
AT USU RESIDENCE
The purpose of this research is to identify and analize the effect of brand image and the reference group in purchasing decisions Tupperware at USU Residence. Population is user of Tupperware who live at USU Residence. The sampling technique used accidental sampling method that is sampled because anyone who met by chance. This research used multiple linier regression analysis with signifikan alpha 5%. The result showed that brand image and the reference group have significant effect to purchasing decisions. The partial test showed that brand image and the reference group have positive and signifficant to purchasing decisions. Through testing the adjusted coefficient of determination (Adjusted R Square) obtained a value of 0,507 or 50,7% puchasing decisions as the dependent variable can be explained by brand image and the reference group as independent variables. While the remaining 49,3% can be explained by other variables not examined in this research.
