As technology expands and the smartphone grows. Google is one of the most frequented platforms. In its development Google is not only a search engine that helps Internet users find links to a web page, but also provides translation machines.

Hence, the study aims to find out how students' perceptions of Google translate as English translation media.

The study was conducted through observations by a 2018 local student a 30 people and interviews involving 5 students from Tarbiyah and teacher faculty. For data collection, authors use techniques such as questionnaire and interviews as support data. Researchers use a qualitative approach method as a research method, in which writers collect and analyze data without experiment manipulation, then draw conclusions based on data analysis.

The conclusion that can be drawn in this study is that Google translate is an application aimed at helping English students translate text or sentences that they do not know the meaning of the word. It is also said by all speakers as simple and simple applications, so it is helpful for those who need help in translating an English text or phrase into Indonesian.

Seiring dengan berkembangnya teknologi dan dengan hadirnya smartphone.

Google merupakan salah satu platform yang paling sering dikunjungi. Dalam perkembangannya Google tidak hanya sebagai mesin pencari yang membantu pengguna internet menemukan link ke suatu halaman web, tetapi juga menyediakan mesin terjemahan. Oleh karena itu, Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana persepsi mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan Google translate sebagai media penerjemahan materi bahasa Inggris.

Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui hasil observasi mahasiswa lokal A 2018 sebanyak 30 orang dan interview yang melibatkan 5 orang dari mahasiswa fakultas tarbiyah dan keguruan. Untuk pengumpulan data, penulis menggunakan teknik seperti angket dan wawancara sebagai data pendukung. Peneliti menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif sebagai metode penelitian, dimana penulis mengumpulkan dan menganalisis data tanpa manipulasi eksperimen, kemudian menarik kesimpulan berdasarkan analisis data.

kesimpulan yang dapat diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah Google Translate merupakan aplikasi yang ditujukan untuk membantu mahasiswa jurusan dalam bahasa Inggris dalam menerjemahkan teks atau kalimat yang mereka tidak tahu arti kata, aplikasi ini juga dikatakan oleh semua pembicara sebagai aplikasi yang mudah dan sederhana, sehingga sangat berguna bagi mereka yang membutuhkan bantuan dalam menerjemahkan sebuah teks atau kalimat dalam bahasa Inggris ke bahasa Indonesia.
