DECREE OF THE MINISTER OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE NO. 222.a/MPP/Kep/7/2001 DATED JULY 13, 2001 THE APPOINTMENT OF PUBLIC TESTING INSTITUTIONS
OF FOUR-AND TWO-WHEEL
THE MINISTER OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE,
Considering :
a. that in order to guarantee the quality of four-and two-wheel motor vehicles as well as to provide protection for consumers, it deemed necessary to appoint public testing institutions of four-and two-wheel motor vehicles.
b. that in relation thereto, it is necessary to issue a decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade.
In view of :
1. Law No. 5/1984 on industrial affairs (Statute Book of 1984 No. 22, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3274); 2. Law No. 14/1992 on land traffic and transport (Statute Book of 1992 No. 48, Supplement to Statute Book
No. 3480);
3. Law No. 8/1999 on consumer protection (Statute Book of 1999 No. 42, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3821);
4. Government Regulation No. 17/1986 on the authority to regulate, foster and develop industries (Statute Book of 1986 No. 23, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3330);
5. Government Regulation No. 44/1993 on vehicles and drivers (Statute Book of 1993 No. 64, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3530);
6. Presidential Decree No. 324/M/2000 on the establishment of the Cabinet for the 1999-2004 period as already amended the latest by Presidential Decree No. 177/2001;
7. Presidential Decree No. 165/2000 on the status, tasks, functions, authority, organizational structures and working arrangements of ministries as already amended the latest by Presidential Decree No. 37/2001; 8. Presidential Decree No. 37/2001 on organizational structures and tasks of ministries as already amended
several times the latest by Presidential Decree No. 58/2001;
9. Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 275/MPP/Kep/6/1999 on automotive industry;
10.Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 276/MPP/Kep/3/2000 on the registration of types and variants of motor vehicles;
11.Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 86/MPP/Kep/3/2001 on the organization and working arrangement of the Ministry of Industry and Trade;
12.Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 214/MPP/Kep/7/2001 on the public test of four-and two-wheel motor vehicles.

To stipulate :
FIRSTLY :
To appoint the following public testing institutions to test the quality of imported and local four- and two-wheel motor vehicles marketed in Indonesia :
a. the Center for Motor Thermodynamics and Propulsion (BTMP/BPPT);
b. Grand Center for Research and Development of Component and Technical Goods Industry (B4T), Ministry of Industry and Trade.
This decree shall come into force as from the date of stipulation.
