ABSTRAK
Latar belakang: Gangguan menstruasi merupakan penanda gangguan fungsi sistem reproduksi. Siklus menstruasi dipengaruhi berbagai hal, seperti umur, status gizi, stres, hormonal, penyakit metabolik dan penyakit pada organ reproduksi. Stres adalah gangguan psikosomatik sehingga tidak jarang digunakan sebagai suatu diagnosis. Stres merupakan suatu fenomena umum yang terjadi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan tidak dapat dihindari.
Metode: Penelitian ini bersifat analitik observasional (non-eksperimental) dengan desain penelitian cross sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah dosen pre-klinis FK USU dan pegawai Bank XXX di Medan. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 79 orang dan yang memenuhi faktor inklusi sebanyak 49 orang. Sampel dipilih dengan teknik total sampling. Pengumpulan data tingkat stres dilakukan dengan pengisian kuisioner DASS42 dan data pola menstruasi diisi pada identitas responden.
Hasil: Hasil penelitian dengan uji chi-square menunjukkan terdapat hubungan stres dengan durasi menstruasi dengan nilai p=0,002 (p<0,05), tetapi tidak terdapat hubungan antara stres dengan siklus menstruasi dengan nilai p=0,264 (p>0,05).
Kesimpulan: Dari penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara tingkat stres dengan gangguan durasi menstruasi.

ABSTRACT
Background: Menstrual disorders is an important indicator of the reproductive system disorders. The menstrual cycle is influenced by shared factors such as age, nutritional status, stress, hormonal, metabolic and gynecologic diseases. Stress is a psychosomatic disorder that sometimes used as a diagnosis. Stress is common phenomenon that occurs everyday and cannot be avoided.
Method: This research is an analytical observational (non-experimental) with cross-sectional study design. The study population is a pre-clinical lecturer at Faculty of Medicine at University of North Sumatera and employees at XXX Bank in Medan. The total sample of 79 people who meet the inclusion factor of as much as 49 people. Samples were selected with a total sampling technique. Stress level data collection is done by filling the questionnaire DASS42 and menstrual pattern filled on the identity of the respondents.
Results: The results of research to chi-square analysis showed relationship between stress and menstrual duration, with a value p=0.002 (p<0.05), but there is no relationship between stress and the menstrual cycle, with a value p=0.264 (p>0.05).
Conclusions: There was association of stress with menstrual duration, not with menstrual cyles.
