ABSTRAK
Latar belakang : Karsinoma nasofaring (KNF) merupakan tumor ganas yang paling banyak dijumpai di antara tumor ganas THT di Indonesia. KNF di Indonesia menempati urutan ke-10 di antara keganasan yang ada di seluruh tubuh. KNF adalah tumor ganas yang tumbuh didaerah nasofaring (fosa Rossenmuller) dan atap nasofaring.
Metode : Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui gambaran klasifikasi histopatologi KNF menurut WHO di RSUP. H. Adam Malik, Medan dari Januari 2012-Desember 2014. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif retrospektif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Jenis sampel yang digunakan adalah total sampling.
Hasil : Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini terdapat sebanyak 144 penderita KNF dari Januari 2012- Desember 2014 di RSUP H. Adam Malik. Hasil menunjukkan mayoritas penderita KNF adalah kelompok usia 41-50 tahun sebanyak 50 orang (34,7%) dan jenis kelamin terbanyak adalah laki-laki sebanyak 103 orang (71,5%). Gambaran klasifikasi histopatologi yang sering didapati adalah WHO II (Non-Keratinizing Squamous Cell Carcinoma).
Kesimpulan : Gambaran klasifikasi histopatologi paling banyak adalah WHO II (Non-Keratinizing Squamous Cell Carcinoma) dengan kelompok umur mayoritas 41-50 tahun dan jenis kelamin terbanyak adalah laki-laki. Oleh karena itu, perlu ditingkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat, tenaga paramedis, dan medis mengenai gejala awal KNF sehingga stadium dini lebih cepat terdeteksi dan memberikan prognosis yang lebih baik.

ABSTRACT
Background : Nasopharyng carcinoma (NPC) is the most common malignant tumor in head and neck regions were mostly in Indonesia. NPC get the 10th among malignancy in the body. NPC grows in the nasopharynx with a predilection in Rossenmuller fossa and the roof of the nasopharynx.
Methode : The purpose of this study was to see the picture of the histopathologic classification of NPC patients by WHO at the general hospital Haji Adam Malik, Medan from January 2012 to December 2014. This research was conducted with descriptive retrospective method with cross sectional approach. Thpe of sample used is total sampling.
Result : There were 144 patients with NPC from January 2012 until December 2014 at the general hospital Haji Adam Malik, Medan. The largest age group suffered from NPC is the age group 41-50 years old 50 peoples (34,7%) and the number of largest sex is men as many as 103 cases (71,%). Mostly common the picture of the histopathologic classification of NPC is WHO II (Non-Keratinizing Squamous Cell Carcinoma).
Conclusion : Mostly common the picture of the histopathologic classification of NPC is WHO II (Non-Keratinizing Squamous Cell Carcinoma) with the largest age group is 41-50 years and mostly common sex is men. In that cases, people should know more knowledge on the risk factors of NPC and those in medical field could diagnose early and precautions can be made.
