ABSTRAK
Skripsi yang berjudul “The Role of playing Online Games in Teens’
Developing Vocabulary” ini adalah studi mengenai pengaruh bermain game
online dalam perkembangan vocabulary bahasa Inggris remaja. Studi ini
menggunakan metode kualitatif. Miles dan Huberman (1994) mendefinisikan cara
penelitian kualitatif adalah untuk menemukan makna data berdasarkan tujuan
yang telah ditetapkan oleh peneliti. Studi ini diadakan di SMP Neg 45 Medan dan
sebagian muridnya yang menjadi pesertanya. Data adalah kata-kata yang terdapat
di Pointblank yang dijadikan pertanyaan untuk mengetahui artinya dalam bahasa
Indonesia. Sumber data studi ini adalah ‘online game Pointblank’. Untuk
mempermudah menemukan hasil penelitian, penulis menggunakan tabel dan
diagram. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat keseringan seseorang
bermain online games berpengaruh dalam pengertian Remaja akan kosakata
bahasa Inggris.
ABSTRACT
This Thesis entitled "The Role of playing Online Games in Teens'
Developing Vocabulary" This is a study of the influence of online gaming in the
development of English vocabulary teenagers. This study using qualitative
methods. Miles and Huberman (1994) defined the way of qualitative research was
to find the meaning of data based on the goals stated by the researcher. This study
is held in the SMP Neg. 45 Medan and some of his students became participant.
Data from this study are the words contained in Pointblank who made inquiries to
find meaning in Indonesian. The data source of this thesis is online game
'Pointblank'. To make easy the finding of research results, the writer use tables
and diagrams. The results showed that, how frequently teenagers influential
within understanding the vocabulary contained in Pointblank.
