Keywords: Sociolinguistic, Slang Words, Park Jaehyung, Conversation, Twitter The study of language variation is known as sociolinguistic, and the goal of such study is to discover what variation tells us about language and speakers knowledge of language. This thesis is discusses about An Analysis on Slang Words Used by Park Jaehyug as Conversation on Twitter. The objectives of this research are to know the kinds of slang words, and to know the functions of slang words used by Park Jaehyung as conversation on twitter.

This research used a qualitative approach, and the data was analyzed in this research, with the data coming from social media. The writer used Patridge’s theory to identify the kinds and functions of slang words.

Through this research, the writer found two kinds of slang words such as society slang and public house slang. And then the writer also found three functions of slang words, they are to waggishness, enrich the language, and feeling closeness.
