AN ANALYSIS ON DERIVATION IN THE ABSTRACT INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL WRITTEN BY THE LECTURER AT IAIN METRO. This research aimed to analyze the affix derivation word in abstract international journal written by the lecturer of State Institute of Islamic Studies (IAIN) Metro.
The researcher focused on the derivation of affixes commonly found on words which are the result of written text through the process of derivation in abstract International Journal of State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Metro. This type of research was qualitative research where the researcher collected data by asking Lecturer's Abstract International Journal. This research also involved five abstracts from the International journal of State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Metro.
Sedangkan berdasarkan hasil analisis ringkasan komposisi pada abstrak jurnal internasional yang ditulis oleh dosen IAIN Metro, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa semua abstrak jurnal internasional pada penelitian ini terdiri dari komposisi lengkap yaitu gambaran umum penelitian, alasan penelitian , metodologi studi dan hasil. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis proses pembubuhan derivasi kata dalam ekstrak majalah internasional yang ditulis oleh dosen di Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Metro.

The Characteristics and Role of The Research
The researcher realized that there were many research methods which can be used to conduct a research. It depended on the purpose of why a research was carried out, what the aims were and what the research was for. In response to these questions, the researcher had to conduct a study to analyze the affix derivation found in abstract international journal written by the lecturer at IAIN Metro.
According to Gary Anderson and Nancy Arsenault, "Qualitative research is a form of research that explores phenomena in their natural environment and uses multi-methods to interpret, understand, explain and make sense of them".38 Moreover, from the statement of the experts related to the qualitative research, the researcher concludes that qualitative research pertains to the problematic moments which can be a case study, personal experience, life story, etc. of an individual. Data Collecting Technique
During the research process, the researcher collected documents as a source of data. The researcher determined the types of documents suitable to answer the research question. In this case, the documents to which the primary data pertained were from summaries of international journals written by the instructor of IAIN Metro.
Data Analysis Technique
Based on the statement, the researcher intends to apply these steps to analyze the data. Data collection, in this step the researcher collected all the data required to complete this research through various data collection processes. Data reduction, this step refers to the process of selecting, focusing, simplifying, abstracting and transforming the data findings.
In this step, the researcher picks and chooses some specific things that were required for the next process. Display of data, in the display of data, the writer used graphs, or charts or figures that are able to depict all the data.

Types of Affixes Derivation found in Abstract International Journal written by the lecturer at IAIN Metro. The researcher found only one prefix in abstract international journal 2 written by the lecturer at IAIN Metro. The derivation of suffixes in the international journal abstract 2 written by the lecturer of IAIN Metro with the title ‖Installation of Islamic values in foreign language learning: An Indonesian context‖ the derivation of the prefix was only 1 word, the derivation of the suffix was 11 words. After that, the researcher only took the international journal abstract written by the lecturer in IAIN Metro. The following was the result of affix derivation in abstracts international Journal written by the lecturer at IAIN Metro.
Based on the abstract international journal written by the teacher of IAIN Metro, the prefix derivation words found by. Based on the abstract international journal 2 written by the teacher of IAIN Metro, the prefix derivation words found by the researcher were irrelevant. The researcher found some appendices in the abstracts of International Journal 3 written by a lecturer at IAIN Metro. Based on the summary of an international journal 4 written by a lecturer at IAIN Metro, the researcher found words that have suffixal derivation.
Based on the data in abstract international journal 1 written by the teacher of IAIN Metro, the researcher found only one word which was interaction. Based on the abstract international journal 4 written by the teacher of IAIN Metro, the researcher did not find the circumfix. Based on the data in abstract international journal 5, written by the teacher of IAIN Metro, the researcher found only one word which was unfortunately.
It means that the derivation of affixes often appeared in the international abstract journal 1 written by the lecturer was suffix.
