If class management was used as a strategy, the student's speaking performance would be good. If = Fo > Ft Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected If = Fo < Ft Ha is rejected and Ho is accepted.
Research Design
The pre-test was performed before the experimental treatment and the post-test was performed after the experimental treatments. This study was designed to investigate whether there was a positive and significant influence of the use of Classroom Management Strategy on student speaking performance at SMP N 3 Sekampung in academic year 2016/2017.
Population and Sampling Technique
A sample is a subset of the population that is considered representative of the entire population.78 In this case, the researcher used a purposive sampling technique. Purposeful sampling technique is a sampling in which elements are selected from the entire population based on the purpose of the study.79.
The Operational definition of Variables
The students could gain new vocabulary from the utterances of teacher and other students. To measure the speaking performance of students, the author conducted a speaking test by giving an oral question consisting of 5 questions in each student. Research Instrument
The number of students at SMP Negeri 3 Sekampung The conditions of the students at SMP Negeri 3 Sekampung who registered the academic year 2017/2018. From the pre-test result, the researcher found that the students had problems using an ineffective strategy when studying. After learning the pre-test result of the students' performance, the students were given a poor score, and the researcher conducted the treatment to help the students understand the speaking performance.
The researcher asked the students about the speaking difficulties and gave several explanations about the speaking performance using a class management strategy until the students understood and could practice. After the students in this class received the treatment and understood, the researcher administered a post-test to measure their speaking performance. In addition, the class management strategy can be a solution for the teacher to teach the students about speaking performance, the students will be more active in the learning process.
By using this strategy, the teaching and learning process is more interesting, more enjoyable and more relaxed, and all students will actively participate in the teaching and learning process.
