The Committee was informed that summary results of the Strategic Planning Questionnaire administered at the 1985 International Convention have been distributed to all International and District Managers. A modified version of the questionnaire was recently administered to delegates to the 1986 Asia-Pacific Conference.

While such a survey would provide important new information, the committee cautioned that the questionnaire would be short and administered early in the Convention rather than during one of the main business sessions. It is unfortunate that some studies will have to be postponed or postponed for the next two years, regardless of the decision made in Houston. The committee noted that progress continues to be made in implementing Kiwanis International's Strategic Planning Program.

These proposed action strategies will be presented to the board for adoption by the relevant board committee. It is expected that the strategic planning program will be fully developed at the meeting in January 1987. The Committee received a summary of the assessments submitted at the conclusion of the Governors' Conference in April. The Committee reiterated the need to establish a solid geographic rotation pattern for Kiwanis International Convention locations, which should include rotation outside of the United States.

PARTICIPANT EVALUATION ROCKY MOUNTAIN DISTRICT PILOT

  • GENERAL
  • SPECIFIC PROGRAM ELEMENTS

Without a doubt one of the finest conferences I have attended and will be the most useful. Both the governor and the governor-elect had a clear understanding of the program's goals and showed genuine excitement about the potential value of this program to presidents and lieutenant governors. Much of the credit for the excellent learning environment belongs to Administrative Secretary, Pat Rust.

The successful implementation of the pilot program in Denver was due in no small measure to excellent planning and the preparation of participants by the. Their clear communication of program goals and their unqualified support of the program led to warm and. If the leadership of the district had been lukewarm or divided in its support, our task would have been much more difficult.

Part of the district's problem will be to mitigate those within the district who were not selected. I feel that one of the biggest weaknesses of this program is that there is currently no structure for the participants to become the trainers for the future. It would also enhance one of the hidden agendas of the program - the idea of fellowshipping with other Kiwanis leaders and "rubbing elbows" with the "big wigs".
