1913: Provided that none of the funds appropriated to the National Park Service may be used to implement an agreement for the redevelopment of the park. None of the funds in this act may be expended by the National Park Service on activities undertaken in direct response to the United States. Appropriations made to the Department of the Interior in this title shall be available for services as authorized by 5 U.S.C.
No funds provided in this title may be expended by the Department of the Interior to conduct offshore leasing.
RELATED AGENCIES
Provided, That up to some of the funds herein provided for road maintenance shall be available for the planned obliteration of roads which are no longer needed: Provided further, That funds. None of the funds made available under this Act shall be required or expended to change the boundaries of any region. Of the funds available to the Forest Service, $1,500 is available to the Chief of the Forest Service for official reception and representation expenses.
2,000,000 of funds available to the Forest Service shall be available for matching funds, as authorized by 16 U.S.C. The money received as revenue sharing from the operation of the Great Plateau Gasification Plant will be immediately transferred to the general fund of the Treasury. That the expenses necessary in carrying out the activities of the Energy Information Administration remain available until completion.
That the necessary expenses for the construction shall remain available until expended: Provided that notwithstanding any other provision of law, the English Public Contract for the Construction. 81,240,000 shall be made available to the National Endowment for the Arts to support projects and artistic productions through assistance to organizations and individuals under section 5(c) of the Act and to administer the functions of the Act to remain available until expended. shall be granted to the National Endowment for the Humanities to support humanities activities under section 7(c) of the Act and to administer the functions of the Act to remain available until expended.
GENERAL PROVISIONS
None of the funds made available in this Act may be used: (1) to demolish the bridge between Jersey City, New Jersey and Ellis Island; or (2) to prevent pedestrian use thereof. In order to process patent applications in a timely and responsible manner at the request of a patent applicant, the Secretary of the Interior will allow this. The regional councils may present recommendations, and the evidence on which such recommendations are based, to the state regulatory authority during the administrative proceedings of such authority.
Decisions of the Board of Directors are made by consensus where possible, and by majority vote if consensus cannot be reached. 34;(A) The Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, who shall be the Chairman of the Council. 34;(i) Tvvo members of the House of Representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
34; (ii) one member of the House of Representatives appointed by the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives. Council members appointed in accordance with this subsection shall act ex officio and shall be non-voting members of the Council. 34; (C) 14 members appointed by the President, with the aid and consent of the Senate, to be selected.
All Alaska yellow cedar may be sold at export rates at the election of the timber sale holder. None of the funds in this Act may be used for planning, design, or construction of improvements on Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House without prior approval.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENT AND RESTORATION FUND
The Secretary of the Treasury will invest amounts in the Fund in interest obligations. Any obligation acquired by the Fund may be sold by the Secretary of the Treasury at the market price. Interest earned from the Fund's investments will be covered and included in a portion of the Fund.
Board members may receive reimbursement for actual expenses they incur in performing their duties on the board. Not more than 5 percent of the funds provided to the Department of Commerce under subsection (1) may be used to support board and management grants under this subsection. Such maps shall be deposited in the Office of the Chief Cadastral Surveyor, Bureau of Land Management, Sacramento, California.
The Secretary of the Interior is authorized to make such typographical and other corrections in this description as are mutually agreed upon by the parties to the Agreement of September 28. The Federal portion of the Headwaters Forest acquired pursuant to this section shall be a land title under section 6905 of title 31, United States Code. The Secretary is authorized to make grants to the Fund for the management of the Principal Forest from the amounts authorized and appropriated.

502(b)(2) if the Secretary of Agriculture certifies, in writing, to Congress that such action is in the best interests of the United States. 22,500,000 in an interest-bearing account at a private, federally authorized financial institution, which, pursuant to the Agreement, will be ~. 1) acceptable to the Secretary of Agriculture; and. The balance of amounts remaining in this account after the completion of response and restoration actions shall be available to the Secretary of Agriculture for use in the New World Mining District for any environmentally beneficial purpose otherwise authorized. e) MAINTENANCE AND REHABILITATION OF EMPTY TOOTH-.
The Secretary of Agriculture is responsible for performing the reconstruction and minor widening of the portion of the Beartooth Highway in Wyoming that runs from milepost 24.5 to milepost 43.1. 180 days after the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the Interior shall transfer to the State of Montana, without compensation, all right, title, and interest of the United States in the Federal mineral rights in the State of Montana to which the Secretary of the Interior and the Governor of Montana agree. by negotiation in accordance with subsection (b) or.
The Secretary of the Interior shall keep the map referred to in subsection (a)(2) on file and available for public inspection at the appropriate offices of the Department of the Interior located in the District of Columbia and Billings, Montana, until January. 1, 2001. 120 days after enactment, the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Agriculture, respectively, shall submit to the Committee on Resources of the House of Representatives, the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate, and the House of Representatives. and Senate Committees on Appropriations, reports detailing the status of efforts to meet the conditions set forth in this title imposed on the acquisition of protection and conservation interests in the Headwaters Forest and the acquisition of protection and conservation interests in Yellowstone National Park. For each day beyond 120 days after the enactment of this Act that the estimates required by subsections 501(b)(5) and 502(b)(2) are not provided to the Committee on House Resources, the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of Senate and House and Senate Appropriations Committees-.
FOREST RESOURCES CONSERVATION AND SHORTAGE RELIEF
Any conveyance under subsection (a) is not subject to the Mineral Leasing Act (30 U.S.C. 181 et seq.). The acquisitions authorized by sections 501 and 502 of this title may not occur before the earlier of: (1) 180 days after the enactment of this Act; or (2) enactment of separate enabling legislation amending section 501, 502, or 503 of this title. For each day longer than 120 days after the enactment of this Act that the assessments required in subsections 501(b)(5) and 502(b)(2) are not submitted to the Committee on Resources of the House, the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources from the Senate and the House and Senate Committees on Appropriations. in accordance with such subsections, the period of 180 days referred to in this section is extended by one day.
34;(3) APPLICABLE LAW In the case of a person's purchase of unprocessed timber originating on federal lands west of. 34; (B) the person has the exclusive right to harvest timber from the private lands described in paragraph (1) during a period of more than 7 years and may exercise that right at any time of the person's choosing.";. Private timber sourcing patterns shall not be a factor in such determinations in states other than Idaho.

No person may be excluded from bidding or entering into a contract for the purchase of unprocessed timber from Federal lands under subsection (A) unless the head of the appropriate Federal department or agency first so determines. 34;(III) as part of a lumberyard agreement consistent with the purposes of export and substitution restrictions imposed under this section.
34; (ii) the location of the unprocessed wood and the effect of the location on its export or use as a substitute;. 34; (iii) the involved party's history of compliance with log staining and marking requirements; and. 34; (iv) any other factor relevant to determining the likelihood that unprocessed wood will be exported or used as a substitute.

None of the lands transferred to the Miccosukee Tribe pursuant to this Act or the Settlement Agreement shall be taxed under federal or state law. 2) PAYMENTS AND TRANSFERS ARE NOT TAXABLE EVENTS.-. No payment or transfer referred to in the first paragraph shall be considered a taxable event. This Act may be cited as the "Department of the Interior and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 1998".
