The Role of Hardiness as A Mediator of Emotional Intelligence and Career Adaptability During Pandemic Covid-19

ABSTRACT
Since the pandemic to the covid-19 endemic, workers in Greater Jakarta have difficulty adapting to all changes in their work due to work from Home which causes workers to be unproductive at work. It can be seen that it has affected the career adaptability of workers. This research to determine a role between hardiness as mediator of relationship between emotional intelligence and career adaptability among workers in Jabodetabek. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. Samples in this study were 668. Instrument: The tools used in this research are Career Adapt-Abilities Scale-Short Form (CAAS- SF) developed by Maggiori, et al. Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLEIS) by Wong &
Law. Hardiness Resilience Gauge (HRG) by Kamtsios & Bartone. Convenience sampling method and Process V4.0 Procedure for SPSS from Andrew F. Hayes is used in this study to analyze the mediation regression process. This research shows that hardiness acts as mediator that connects emotional intelligence dan career adaptability, based on this, relationship between emotional intelligence dan career adaptability is increasing with the role of hardiness. It is hoped this research can provide guidance to workers and management in Jakarta that it is important to understand the values of emotional intelligence, hardiness, and career adaptability so that they can take adaptive actions to changes in endemic period.
