Dean Maynard K. Hine was honored by the Indiana State Dental Assoc- iation on Sunday evening, May 15th at a Dinner at the Indianapolis Athletic Club. Dr. Gerald D.
Timmons of' Scottsdale, Arizona, the immediate Past President of the American Dental Association and representing Delta Sigma Delta Fraternity, presented Dean Hine with a plaque from the Fraternity in recognition of his service to the ·Profession. The Indiana State Dental Association presented Dr.
and Mrs. Hine a RCA color television.
Dr. Harry J. Healy, Chairman of Endodontics, was installed as President of the Indiana State Dental Association at the 108th Annual Session, held here in
Indianapolis, May 15th through 18th. He was honored by the Indianapolis Alumni Chapter of Alpha Omega at a Dinner at the Athletic Club and was presented with a beautiful plaque for his outstanding contributions to Dentistry. During the Sessions of the State Meeting, Dr. Healy was also presented with an
appropriately inscribed gavel by the Indiana University School of Dentistry Alumni Association.
Dr. Ralph E. McDonald was in .Memphis, Tennessee, May 5th and 6th to attend a meeting of the U.S. Public Health Service Advisory Committee on Dental Student Training.
Dr. Roger G. Noonan, Pedodontics, is attempting to organize a Toastmasters Club for the Medical Center. All
May 25, 1966 interested male faculty members, staff members, interns and residents are
invited to attend an organizational luncheon meeting at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, I'v'.lay 26th at the Union Bldg.
Dr. Noonan will accept reservations at Extension 8220.
On May 10th, Dean Hine presented a plaque to Dean Ralph Broyles, Director of the I. U. Fort Wayne Regional Campus, in recognition of the financial contributions of 30 dentists in the Fort Wayne area to the Dental Auxiliary Programs.
Delores Riczo, Suzanna Leland, Barbara Warner and Marthena Smith took their Dental Assistants Certification Exam- ination on Sunday, May 15th, concluding a 1C4-hour course of study during the past eight months.
Dr. Paul Starkey, President-Elect of the American Society of Dentistry for Children, reports that he spent Friday and Saturday nights, May 13 and 1!-1-, in a cabin in the Rocky Mountains and could look out the window and see the snow-covered slopes of Pikes Peak.
He was in Colorado Springs giving a one-day Seminar for the Colorado Society of Dentistry for Children. In attendance at this meeting was Dr.
Robert Moore who practices Pedodontics in Colorado Springs and received his M.S.D. Degree in Pedodontics from
I.U.S.D. in 1963. Dr. Starkey reports that Dr. Moore is representing I.U.S.D.
in its finest tradition.

flowers which she received during her recent hospitalization. Thanks also to the doctors, nurses and aides for the wonderful care she received. It was all so much appreciated.

Dr. David Bixler attended the International Teratologic Symposium and Workshop in Cincinnati on May 12-14. The ~eeting was sponsored by the Research Foundation for the Facially Crippled.
Dr. Varoujan Tchalian presented a lecture to the Junior anQ Senior students at the University of Louisville on r-Iay 12 and 13 on
"Maxillofacial Prosthetics as a Dental Specialty," and another lecture to the dental faculty and physician guests on "How to
Establish a Maxillofacial Prosthetics Department in a Dental School or Medical Center. On Friday, 1.vlay 20th, Dr. Tchalian presented a lecture to the Anatomy Department of the
Medical School on i'Maxillofac ial Prosthetics in Medical Centers. ii
Miss Rebekah Fisk left Indianapolis on Saturday, May 21st, for a well- earned five-week European vacation.
Her Schedule will include visits to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France and England.
On May 25th, Dr. Ralph E. McDonald, Assistant Dean, will be in Chicago serving as a Consultant to the Council on Dental Education of the American Dental Association.

During the month of May, Professor Ralph W. Phillips served as Essayist for State Dental Societies in Mississippi and Pennsylvania and presented a Post-Graduate Course in Gainesville, Florida. In addition, he served as a Consultant to the
Collaborative Research Program, National Institute of Dental Research and met with the Program Committee of the
International Association of Dental Research.
Twenty dentists from _Indiana will participate in the Pin Amalgam Course given by the Operative Department May
26-27, 1966.
Operative Dentistry Dept. secretary Joyce Richardson has retired from working upon the arrival of her new baby boy, Andrew Edward. Our best wishes to Mr. & Mrs. Richardson and Andy.
We would also like to extend our best wishes to Mrs. Ruffin, Junior Appoint- ment Clerk in the Main Clinic, upon her retirement.
Dr. W. Bailey Davis presented a discussion of Current Pulp Therapy for the Greater Cincinnati American Society of Dentistry for Children Study Club on April 26th.
On April 22nd, the First Year Dental Hygienists made their annual field trip to Muscatatuck State School with the Riley Hospital Dental Clinic
Residents, Interns and Dental Assistants.
The purpose of the trip was to com- plete a clinical examination and prophylaxis for the children in the Muscatatuck Nursery.
