Judul: Improving students' reading skills through the dual brain power method in the second grade of SMA YPPP Wonomulyo (A classroom action research). Title: Improving Students' Reading Skills Through Dual Brain Power Method in Second Grade SMA YPPP Wonomulyo (A Classroom Action Reseacrh). Improving students' reading skills with dual brain power method in second grade students of SMA YPPP WONOMULYO.

The research findings showed that second grade students in SMA YPPP Wonomulyo progressed from the first cycle to the second cycle. There was also a significant improvement from Cycle I to Cycle II, where the mean grade of students in Cycle II was 8.53. From these findings, the researcher concluded that using the double brain power method could improve the students' reading achievements and make them active in the learning process.

Proficient reading depends on their ability to recognize words quickly and effortlessly. Considering this problem, the researcher has an alternative to use teaching method to improve students' reading comprehension. Based on the explanation above, the researcher is interested in conducting a group action research under the title “Improving The students' Reading Skills Through Double Brain Power The Students of class XI IPA 2 at SMAS YPPP WONOMULYO.

How Double Brain Power Method improves the students' literal reading skill in the second grade of SMAS YPPP WONOMULYO. How Double Brain Power Method improves the students' interpretive reading skill in the second grade of SMAS YPPP WONOMULYO. To find out the students' reading skills in terms of finding the main ideas by Double Brain Power at the second grade of SMAS YPPP WONOMULYO.

To discover the reading skills of students in terms of finding content through Dual Brain Power in the second grade of SMAS YPPP WONOMULYO. The findings of this research are expected to be useful and useful information for the readers in general and especially for the second class of SMAS YPPP WONOMULYO to improve the quality of English teaching and learning.

Doubling the activity of brain power or ability is not something trivial, but it is a necessity. From the above definition, the researcher concludes that the definition of reading literacy is the process in which the readers construct meaning from a text related to the background knowledge they have in order to get a clear understanding of the writer's message. Thus, the main idea can be stated at the beginning, middle, or end of the paragraph.

By searching for a detail, the reader must look for signals in the vicinity of the necessary information or in the information itself. The ability to predict depends on both the background knowledge of the reader and the content of the text. These are very important abilities to support the development of the students in reading comprehension.

In this ability, students should be able to remember a fair proportion of the factual information or ideal expressed in a passage. In this ability, students must be able to pick out the important and relevant point, and students must be able to understand the meaning and significance of facts and ideas.

The above chart showed that students' improvement in interpretive understanding (making conclusion) through Double Brain Power Method. This means that there was the improvement students' scores in reading comprehension used the Double Brain Power Method. AVERAGE SCORE OF THE STUDENTS' ACTIVITY IN TEACHING THE LEARNING PROCESS IN CYCLE I AND CYCLE II.

Research Instrument

There are two instruments used in this research, namely the observation sheet and the test. The observation sheet aims to reveal the students' data about their presence and activity during the teaching and learning process. The test aims to obtain information about the improvement of students during the teaching and learning process using the Double Brain Power Method.

In the test the researcher did to get the information using the narrative text by giving some questions.

Data Collection

The researcher will create a Double Brain Power lesson plan. The Make Instrument evaluation will be used in classroom action research cycles. At each meeting, the teacher provides reading material using the double brain power method. The teacher asks the students to form small groups and distribute the text of the material.

The students place all matters that you need to read above the table or next to pleasant chair. The teacher asks the students to summarize the author's ideas about the text. The teacher gives the students the opportunity to re-read the text independently and answer the tasks.

The teacher allows the students to read the text independently and answer the text. Students look for other material in the book text and then figure out main ideas and content.

Data Analysis

FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

Discussion

This section presents the result on the literal reading comprehension of the students, covering the main ideas and supporting ideas, the interpretive understanding, the drawing of conclusions and the observation result of the students. Before conducting a classroom action study through the Double Brain Power method, the researcher conducts a diagnostic test to measure the students' prior knowledge of English reading. The average score of the students' literal comprehension (main idea) ability in cycle 1 was 6.13% and was classified as fairly good.

The average score for students' interpretive understanding (making inference) ability in cycle 1 was 5.93% and classified as fair. The observation result of the students' activity in teaching and learning process was significantly improved through the Double Brain Power Method in cycle 1 the students' activity in the 1st meeting was 50% it meant that there was still the second activity that the students did during the teaching and learning process. This means that the application of the Double Brain Power Method could improve the students' activity during the teaching and learning process, and it was successful.

The researcher can say that teaching reading through double brain power method was a good method to improve students' reading comprehension score. The application of discovery learning method in teaching reading comprehension to second grade students of SMAS YPPP WONOMULYO Kabupaten POLMAN can improve students' score and their ability to understand reading comprehension materials in cycle I and cycle II. This can be proved by the result of the findings about the students' literal reading comprehension related to the main ideas and interpretive understanding related to drawing the conclusion and the result of observing the students' activity in the teaching and learning process. .

Using the Double Brain Power method can improve students' literal reading comprehension scores in the second grade of SMAS YPPP WONOMULYO Kabupaten POLMAN. The students' D-Test average score of 4.80 showed that this was classified as a poor performance. It was also lower than the mean score for the students' literal comprehension in Cycle I: 6.13, it was classified as fairly good, and Cycle II was 8.66, it was classified as good.

The use of double brain power method can improve students' performance in interpretive understanding in the second grade of SMAS YPPP WONOMULYO Kabupaten POLMAN. It is shown by the average D test score of the students was 4.30, it was classified as poor achievement.
