Judul skripsi: Students' perception of English club as extracurricular in speaking practice (a descriptive study at SMP Nasional Makassar of eighth grade). Students' perception of English club as extracurricular in speaking practice (a descriptive research at SMP Nasional Makassar of eighth grade). This research aimed to know about students' perception of English club as extracurricular in speaking practice at SMP Nasional Makassar in eighth grade.

The population of this research consisted of students who participated in the English club at SMP Nasional Makassar in the 2018/2019 academic year. Based on the data analysis, it was found that the students had positive responses to the English club as an extracurricular in speaking practice. The students also think that the English club had a great way of motivating the students to practice speaking with friends.

The differences between students who enter the English club program and those who do not join this program are that students who enter the English club program have speaking skills such as grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Great praise and gratitude to the almighty God, Allah SWT, who always bestows her compassionate mercy and immense blessing that help the writer to complete this proposal with the title is the perception of students in the English club as extracurricular in the practice of speaking (a descriptive study in SMP Nasional Makassar of eighth grade).

Background

In this research, the researcher focused on the students' perception about English club in speaking practice. The activities in the English Club can also help the students to improve the students' ability in English. So, the students who joined an English club can improve their skill especially in speaking skill.

The students who participate in English club can make the students become better speakers. Most of the students perceived that they prefer to practice in English club than regular class.

Fatima says that English Club has really helped the students to improve their proficiency in English. Most of the students strongly agreed that by joining English club they can adapt to the other people from the other country.

In a research it was very important to scope the research to get the relevant data. This area focuses on students' types of perception (depth perception, motion perception, shape perception, time perception, and size perception).

Conceptual Framework

The research is a descriptive research which describes the students' perception of extracurricular English club learning in speaking practice. The English club is a media that connects a person with others, in which it aims not only to improve their speaking ability, but also to improve students' motivation and build their confidence to speak as much as possible. Possible. By joining the English club, students can get more experiences and also gain more knowledge.

English club is one of the most important things that can improve students' ability, especially in speaking skill. The students must therefore master the entire components to achieve the goal of speaking skills and to communicate. In this research, the researcher wants to know about the students' perception about English club in speaking practice.

Discussion

The second is the problem of the students who join an English club, because an English club cannot improve their speaking potential and talents. The seven is the advantage of joining the English club, by following the English club, the students can recognize the other people with the different country. The eighth is the problem faced by students in an English club; by joining an English club the students all over the world cannot understand it.

This means that the students answered positively that the English club is a better place for speaking practice. The eleventh is the problem that the students face in the English club, where the students of the English club cannot express the idea, opinion and feeling. In the English class, the students had more time to study, and they were mainly focused on speaking.

In the English club, students had a lot of time to learn English, which can improve their English skills.

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

Suggestion

Based on the question above, the answer showed that 27 students said they strongly agree, 13 students said they agree, 0 students said they disagree, 0 students said they disagreed, and 0 students said they strongly disagreed. Based on the above question, the response showed that 1 student said strongly agree, 0 student said he agreed, 5 students said he disagreed, 17 students said he strongly disagreed, and 17 students said he strongly disagreed. Based on the question above, the answer showed that 27 students said they strongly agree, 9 students said they agree, 1 student said undecided, 1 student said they disagree , and 2 students said they strongly disagreed.

Based on the question above, the response showed that 3 students said they strongly agree, 1 student said they agree, 4 students said they are unsure, 14 students said they disagree and 18 students said they strongly agree. do not agree Based on the question above, the response showed that 19 students said strongly agree, 7 students said agree, 12 students said undecided, 0 student said disagree and 2 students said they strongly disagree. Based on the question above, the response showed that 27 students said strongly agree, 12 students said that they agree, 1 student said that they are unsure, 0 students said that they disagree, and 0 students said that they totally disagree.

Based on the above question, the response showed that 0 students said strongly agree, 0 students agreed, 5 students said undecided, 15 students said they disagree and 20 students said they strongly disagree. Based on the above question, the response showed that 0 students said strongly agree, 0 students agreed, 2 students said undecided, 13 students said they disagree and 25 students said they strongly disagree. Based on the above question, the response showed that 16 students strongly agreed, 15 students agreed, 6 students said undecided, 2 students said they disagree, and 1 student strongly disagreed.

Based on the question above, the response showed that 2 students said they strongly agree, 2 students said they agree, 0 students said they were undecided, 13 students said they disagreed, and 23 students said they strongly agreed. does not agree.
