INTRODUCTION
For the time being, the fast spread of Information and Communication Technology, abbreviated as ICT, in many areas of life, including education, distinguishes education. ICT has also had a significant impact on the field of education, specifically the emergence of breakthroughs that have begun to use the internet network in the teaching and learning process, which is commonly known as E-learning or electronic-based learning whose implementation uses media such as audio and video. E-learning has since grown into online learning, which we now refer to as Online Learning. In line with Circular Letter No. 4 of 2020 from the Minister of Education and Culture about the implementation of education policies during this pandemic or the spread of the Corona Virus (Covid-19), we are encouraged to carry out the learning process from home, also known as online learning or online schooling, via the online learning system. Online learning must be implemented with a supporting device such as
351
a laptop, smartphone, iPad/Tab, and other tools as intermediates that can connect to an internet connection.
Teachers are instructors who are required to follow RI Law No. 14 of 2005 which controls teachers and lecturers to have professional requirements to develop teaching skills with the most recent scientific and technological advancements in carrying out classroom learning.
Furthermore, Permendiknas No. 16 of 2007 on Academic Qualification and Educator Competency Standards states that the pedagogic competency level for SMA/MI class instructors is the ability to use information and communication technologies for learning objectives. Senior high school students are classified as having adequate age and competence in the use of ICT; thus, the instructor merely offers a direction or ability and skill in utilizing technology/internet. Because of the more sophisticated technical advances, the usage of media or applications for internet-based learning or online learning is a good option to maintain studying new content and makes it a challenge to know more about the meaning of internet media or apps utilized.
Because the material needed to enhance the abilities of today's youngsters is no longer restricted to classrooms, online learning is becoming more important. Online-based learning applications that are developed can be open-source means which can be accessed openly or vice versa, one of which is Quipper Video.
Quipper video is different from Quipper School in its purpose to how it operates. Quipper School is a free service, while the Quipper Video service is paid. Students need to register and pay for the package provided to be able to enjoy Quipper Video content. The use of Quipper Video aims to share knowledge, by utilizing the internet as an online-based learning tool. It can be a means of support for students in the process of teaching and learning activities at school.
Quipper School is an innovative e-learning platform created by scientists. Quipper is also used in schools as an online learning approach, and the efficiency of the program has been shown by students' internet usage patterns. For the time being, practically everyone, from youngsters to adults, enjoys and is skilled in utilizing the internet. These students are youngsters who spend a lot of time on the internet. Almost every day and every hour, people spend time on the internet. According to a 2014 study performed by the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemkominfo), internet usage in Indonesia has reached 82 million individuals, with teens aged 15 to 19 accounting for over 80% of online users.

The researchers, as previously said, is interested in doing research on students’ opinions of Quipper Video as an English learning tool. Researchers believe this is worth doing because of the rare investigations being conducted on Quipper Video.
LITERATURE REVIEW 1. Perception
Perception, according to Sarlito W. S (1983), is a person's capacity to organize an observation, which might include the ability to discriminate, categorize, and concentrate attention. As a result, even if two people are looking at an identical item, they may have distinct perspectives. This is conceivable due to a variation in the individual's value system and personality attributes. Meanwhile, according to Leavit (1978) cited in Faradina and Triska (2007:
8), perception has a limited and wide connotation. Perception in a narrow sense refers to how someone sees something, but perception in a broader sense refers to someone's point of view or understanding, or how someone perceives or interprets something. Perception, according to Sondang P. Siagian (1989), is the process through which a person organizes and interprets his sensory inputs to provide meaning to his environment. Perception is a mental process in which a person organizes, utilizes, feels, and evaluates distinctions or all that happens in his environment, according to Indrajaya (1986) in Prasilika, Tiara H. (2007:10).
According to Sunaryo (2004) perception is divided into two types, namely: external perception and self-perception. Moreover, according to Irwanto (2002), the types of perceptions which are the result of interaction between humans and the object are two perceptions. They are positive and negative perceptions.
Based on the above discussion, it is possible to deduce that an individual's perception may be aware of and comprehend a scenario that occurs in the surrounding environment or the individual's state (self-perception).
Perception arises as a result of the following steps (Walgito, 2010):
a. The first process, often known as natural or physical processes, occurs when a stimulus is captured by the human senses.
b. Physiological processes are a continuation of the stimulus received by the receptors (sensory organs) via the sensory nerves.
c. The psychological phase is the third step, which is the emergence of individual awareness of the stimulus received by the receptor.
353
Moreover, Thoha (2003) stated that the process of perception is based on several stages which are stimulus or stimulation, registration, and interpretation
There are two types of elements that impact a person's perception. They are internal and external influences. Internal factors include age, education, and work. On the other hand, the external factors are information and experience.
Based on the preceding, it is reasonable to conclude that perception is a process of object awareness that is influenced by both internal and external factors. Attitudes, personalities, goals, interests, past experiences, and expectations are all factors that influence perception.
Walgito (2010) indicated that the following elements have a role in perception such as the object that is perceived, the sense organ, nerves, and the central nervous system, and the last is attention
2. Quipper Video Application
Quipper Video is an online learning service that relies on video content, study guides, and predictive tests. Quipper Video can be focused on helping students prepare for the National Examination and SBMPTN, and managed by the students themselves. Furthermore, without having to connect to the teacher's class account, students can access the content provided (Berbagi Ilmu, 2018).
Quipper Video features are facilities that are provided when students subscribe to Quipper Video (Sari, 2016). There are some features available on the Quipper Video online learning site at the following list below:
a. It has thousands of learning videos
b. The practice feature answers questions and discussions
c. Features of material notes that can be downloaded (download) d. The feature of asking online tutors and tutors
e. Quipper Video SBMPTN intensive features
METHODS
1. Research Design
According to Emzir (2009:28), explaining the notion of a quantitative approach is an approach that principally uses post-positivist in developing science (such as related to cause and effect, reduction to variables, hypotheses, and specific questions with measurements, observations, and theory testing), and employed statistical data in research tactics like as
354
surveys and experiments. As a result, this study used a quantitative descriptive technique, in which the researchers gathered quantitative data that was then utilized to examine a sample population of students' learning interests in the usage of the Quipper Video application by students at SMA Negeri 2 Makassar City.
2. Research Variables and Indicators
According to Silaen (2018: 69), research variables are concepts that have various values or have varying values, namely a trait, characteristic or phenomenon that can show something to be observed or measured whose values vary or vary. The variable in this study is students' perception of using Quipper Video, while the indicator of this study is to determine students' perception of learning English by using the Quipper Video application.
3. Population and Sample
According to Hadari Nawawi (in Hidayat, 2012), the population is all research objects Humans, animals, objects, growth, events, illnesses, or test scores are examples of data sources with specific qualities in the study. The population of this study is all of the students of SMA NEGERI 2 MAKASSAR in the academic year 2021/2022, a total of 125 students.
A sample must be representative of a population. The population of this research were 125 students on the second grade XII MIPA of SMAN 2 Makassar in the 2021/2022 academic year.
There are a total of 25 students in the sample. The sample can only be made up of students who utilize Quipper Video. The researchers utilize a basic random sampling procedure to get the sample. Because the population is homogeneous as a result of the learning process utilizing the Quipper Video Application, the researchers opt for a simple random sample strategy.
According to Sugiyono (Hidayat, 2018), simple random sampling is a strategy for randomly selecting samples from members of the population without respect for the population's existing strata.
4. Research Instrument
The Likert Scale is a kind of questionnaire that serves the same purpose as a questionnaire.
"The Likert scale (a summated rating scale) examines attitudes about a subject by delivering a collection of statements about the issue and asking respondents to indicate whether they strongly agree, agree, disagree, or strongly disagree for each item," according to Ary (2010:209).
Statements concerning students' perceptions of the Quipper Video application in their English learning are included in the questionnaire.
355
5. Procedure of Data Collection
In collecting the data, the researchers followed the step below to ease the process of data collection. First, the researchers prepared the questionnaire. The researchers make a questionnaire in Google form. Then, select students using simple random sampling to get the sample. The last was providing the link to the students to fill it in.
6. Technique of Data Analysis
The researchers analyzed the collected data from the questionnaire first by classifying all of the data that has been collected from the questionnaire based on the statement of the problems. Then, the researchers made the categories of students’ perceptions based on the range of scale criteria and the frequency of the students who have the same score. The last was describing the students’ perception of the use of the Quipper Video application in their English learning by interpreting the data and making a conclusion.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
The study findings illustrate the results of the questionnaire and interview used to answer the research question which is "What are students' impressions of the Quipper Video as an application for learning English?". Questionnaires and interviews were used to gather data for the study.
In this study, thirty (30) second-grade students from Senior High School 2 Makassar were chosen as responders. Students' perceptions of Quipper Video as The Application to Learn English are favorable, according to the data analysis from the questionnaire. The outcome of the mean score in the questionnaire, which was computed as follows, is demonstrated below:
=
= 70
The total score from the questionnaire was 2157 with the total sampling being 31. The mean score of the student’s perception of Quipper Video as the application to learn English is 70 which means it is included in the positive classification. The results of the mean score were

supported by frequency and the percentage of the questionnaire which showed in the table below.
Table 1. Perception Classification
From the Table 1, it can be seen that the students had different perceptions of Quipper Video as an application to learn English. Most students had positive perceptions, some had moderate perceptions.
The explanation above has shown how students perceive the use of video Quipper as a platform for learning English. It can be seen that the learning motivation of students who use video Quipper is increasing. They also stated that their English skills were better than before.
The use of visual media is one of the things that can attract students' interest in learning.
Interactive videos will make it easier for students to understand the lessons delivered when compared to online learning classes delivered by their teachers. The ease of understanding the material presented will certainly change the mindset of students that learning English is not as difficult as imagined. In addition, one of the advantages obtained from them is that they can communicate easily with their teachers. This will certainly improve the relationship between teacher and student and the increasing experience will also have an impact on student achievement. The students stated that using the Quipper video helped them with the exams.
In addition, the students claimed to be able to submit the assignments given by their teachers on time. However, there are still some obstacles in the learning process using the video Quipper, namely that students sometimes find it difficult to use the available features.
