Based on observations, it was found that many teachers are less in preparing the lesson plan. Even some of them, teaching in the classroom without using RPP. Allegedly, the performance of teachers is low in carrying out their duties. Lack of teacher performance because of the alleged motivation of teachers and principal transformational leadership is not maximized. Further education will lead to low quality or competence of students at a school.
This study aims to reveal how much contribution Work Motivation of Teachers and the principal transformational leadership on teachers' performance of the Madrasah Aliyah in the Regency Pesisir Selatan. There are three hypotheses proposed in this research that teachers' motivation contributes to the performance of teachers, principals transformational leadership contributes to teachers’
performance, motivation of teachers and principal transformational leadership contributes to the performance of teachers
The research method used was quantitative correlational study with a teacher population of the Madrasah Aliyah in the Pesisir Selatan Regency as Many as 265 and as many as 82 of the study sample were extracted using Proportional stratified random sampling technique taking into account the period of employment and educational strata. The instrument used was questionnaire reliability and validity has been tested with Monas program @2009. The data is then analyzed using correlation and regression techniques.
The analysis showed that (1) Work Motivation Guru contributed significantly to the performance of teachers by 9.6% (2) principal transformational leadership contributed significantly to the performance of teachers by 5.5% (3) Work Motivation of Teachers and the principal transformational leadership together both contribute significantly to the performance of 13.1% of teachers.
The results showed that the hypothesis can be empirically acceptable. These findings can be concluded that the motivation of teachers and principal transformational leadership are two factors that contribute to teacher performance.
Therefore, it is expected that the relevant parties to consider two factors that may increase teacher performance

Berdasarkan pengamatan kasat mata di lapangan masih banyak guru yang lalai dalam menyiapkan perangkat mengajarnya. Bahkan beberapa dari mereka, mengajar di kelas tanpa menggunakan RPP. Diduga kinerja guru masih rendah dalam melaksanakan tugasnya. Kurangnya kinerja guru diduga karena faktor motivasi kerja guru dan kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah yang belum maksimal. Lebih lanjut lagi akan mengakibatkan rendahnya mutu pendidikan atau kompetensi siswa pada suatu sekolah.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan seberapa besar kontribusi Motivasi Kerja Guru dan kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja guru Madrasah Aliyah Negeri di Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. Terdapat tiga hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu motivasi kerja guru berkontribusi terhadap kinerja guru, Kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah berkontribusi terhadap kinerja guru, motivasi kerja guru dan kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah berkontribusi terhadap kinerja kerja guru
Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif korelasional dengan populasi guru Madrasah Aliyah Negeri di Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan sebanyak 265 dan sampel penelitian sebanyak 82 orang yang diambil menggunakan teknik stratified proportional random sampling dengan mempertimbangkan masa kerja dan strata pendidikan. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket yang sudah diuji kehandalan dan kesahihannya dengan program Monas tahun 2009. Data tersebut kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik korelasi dan regresi.
Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa (1) Motivasi Kerja Guru berkontribusi signifikan terhadap Kinerja guru sebesar 9,6 % (2) Kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah berkontribusi signifikan terhadap Kinerja guru sebesar 5,5 % (3) Motivasi Kerja Guru dan Kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah secara bersama-sama berkontribusi signifikan terhadap Kinerja guru sebesar 13,1 %. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis dapat diterima secara empiris. Hasil temuan ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa motivasi kerja guru dan kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah merupakan dua faktor yang berkontribusi terhadap Kinerja guru. Oleh karena itu diharapkan kepada pihak-pihak terkait agar memperhatikan kedua faktor tersebut agar Kinerja guru dapat meningkat.
