Research Design
The sample of the research is class X ips1 of the first grade SMA 1 Seputih Surabaya at the academic 20019/2020. The results of the data that the students learn are taken from the test that they are pre-test and post-test, where the students are 37 as a sample, this data is the average value of speaking taken from the test of English language subjects, the result includes the entire component. in speaking are vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, fluency and comprehension. The researcher conducted the pretest in the first meeting, this pretest of the research form which is a test of speaking with simple conversation. Based on the frequency distribution table above, we can see that the result has 60, the highest frequency is 19 students with a percentage of 15.4%.
So the score with the lowest frequency is 80 with a total frequency of 4 students with a percentage of 10.8%. The researcher performed a post-test after the researcher got the score pre-test the result in the second meeting of this research form post-. Based on the frequency distribution above, it can be seen that the score 75 with the highest frequency is 13 students with a percentage of 35.1%.
So, the score that has the lowest frequency is 80 with a total frequency of 9 students with a percentage of 24.3%. Normality test is performed to determine whether a normal distribution of data or not, it is important to know related to the accuracy of the choice of the statistical test to be used. In the process of analyzing this data, the data that is still raw is processed and then interpreted, so that the proposed hypothesis can be tested for truth.
So, there is the effect of branch-based language teaching on students' speaking performance in class X SMA N 1 Seputih Surabaya.
