PREFACE
VoCAbulARy has a very important rule to support speaking, listening Comprehension, reading comprehension and writing skill. People need to use words in order to expreess themselves in any language. They gain vocab- ulary to describe what they want to say as well as to understand what people say. Understanding vocabulary on written form is also very important in order to have Comprehension of what we read as well as to write message to make people understand what we write. These are the reasons why under- standing vocabulary is an essential element in teaching.
This book is written to make it easier for students to recognize vocabulary on academic language in content areas. Vocabulary on academic language describes the language of schooling which words used across disciplines such as admission office, credit hour, etc. While content areas are specific to the discipline such as professional development, teaching method, etc. This book is composed of approximately 3.250 entry words which are targetted by the number of vocabularies that must be mastered by the students at the tertiary level on English department especially student within the scope of IAIN Parepare.
