adjoining Southwest Arabian Sea in the lower tropospheric levels on 21st October 2020. This system has caused fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/thunderstorms along with intense to very intense rainfall activity over coastal and interior parts of Maharashtra in the beginning of the week and isolated to scattered rainfall/thunderstorms along with isolated intense rainfall activity over Gujarat State on one or twodays during the week.
♦ Under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over Central Bayof Bengal &neighbourhood extending upto mid tropospheric levels which persisted over that area for about twodays , a Low pressure area has formed over Central Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood on 20th October 2020;it lay
as a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood on 21st October 2020;This system, its associated cyclonic circulation extending upto mid tropospheric levels and a trough fromthe cyclonic circulationassociated with the system across Peninsular India withextension upto mid tropospheric levels have caused fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/thunderstorms along with isolated intense rainfall activity over parts of Peninsular India during the second half of the week.
♦ Circulation features associated with the Low pressure system over the Bay of Bengal which supported moisture incursion into the area have caused scattered to fairly widespread rainfall/thunderstorms along with isolated intense rainfall activity over parts of northeast India during the second half of theweek.
Withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon: (Fig.1)
