This study interpretes the status of Indian Minority community in Malaysia based of the results of the Malaysian Census 2020. Despite the spike in the total population of the country, the the Indian community, the third largest ethnic group, shows declining. This downturn would pose major challenges in upholding the privileges and rights of ethnic minorities, as the Malaysian government policies were enacted based on population data. This article pursues to inspect the grounds for the downswing in the number of Malaysian Indians based on state-wise over the past twenty years and the challenges faced by the Indians, in general.
